I had the honour of conducting the funeral of a retired Gamekeeper. His family chose a bespoke coffin and a Landrover Hearse from #onelifelivedit with following vehicle. Together with a very rural setting and the sun shining it made a sad day much brighter. Paul had the honour of conducting the funeral of a retired London Bus diver who was also an avid West Ham supporter.
His family chose to represent his life in flowers. Unfortunately the weather was not so kind but a Hearse and 2 Limousines made for a very traditional funeral. The death of someone close to us is a very personal experience and is likely to be one of the most painful we will ever suffer, it can be also be one of life's greatest challenges.

Services
Gowards Funeral Services are a family owned and run business and are the only independent funeral service in Fakenham, Norfolk. As a family run business Gowards are able to offer a more personal service dedicating our time to the needs of the bereaved and their loved ones. We have served the area of Norfolk and generations of the same families for nearly 55 years.
We firmly believe that every funeral should be as individual as the deceased and that the choices made should truly reflect their life, personality and character - making it a unique celebration of their life - this is why it is our policy not to impose urgency or apply undue pressure on you to make arrangements.
The death of a child is always a dreadful experience but we hope that, by once again, offering a choice of suitably named, transparent options we can help parents decide what they would like. All our services for funerals of children up to the age of 12 are provided free of charge. We have streamlined the choices offered for funerals with the following options - Fern, Forget-me-not and Foxglove.
Following the funeral service families may wish to gather at a local venue for refreshments or to catch up, reminisce and exchange stories. At the time of making the funeral arrangements, it is not always easy to know where the final resting place of a loved one should be. Some families decide to leave a loved one at the crematorium, the crematorium staff are available to guide you through the options.
Traditional coffins are always popular and are available in either veneer or solid wood. Veneered coffins are approved for both cremation and burials and solid wood coffins for burial purposes. Panels, raised lids and mouldings can be applied to all wooden coffins making them more individual. At Gowards Funeral Services we are able to offer a wide range of coffin choices for both burial, green burial and cremation purposes.
