Welcome to W.C. Littleproud & Son, an independent family run business that has served families throughout Norfolk for 85 years. Throughout the years W.C. Littleproud & Son has built a reputation for their high standard of care, professionalism and dignity with which we carry out the funeral service.

We endeavour to provide meticulous and personal attention to every detail, from the moment of first contact with the family. Our friendly and experienced staff pride themselves on providing a quality bespoke service with care and respect at the most difficult of times.
Services
W.C. Littleproud and Son was formed back in the 1930's by the late William Charles Littleproud. William's trade was originally a wheelwright and carpenter before becoming a builder and undertaker. In 1960 Michael joined his father in the family business. In the late 1980's the building business ended allowing Michael to concentrate on the funeral business which had grown substantially over the previous 2 decades.
There is always a member of staff available 24 hours a day, every day, and our service to you starts from the moment you contact us - whether by telephone or by calling in personally. It is advisable to initially contact us by telephone out of hours and at weekends. We are always happy to discuss the funeral arrangements in the privacy of your own home or one of our offices - whichever is the most convenient to you.
As every funeral is individual and unique, costs can vary greatly depending whether the funeral is to be a burial or cremation, the style of coffin used, whether you require a limousine or numerous other factors. Our aim is to offer a service that suits your requirements at a competitive and fair price to suit all budgets.
You could get a Funeral Expenses Payment (also called a Funeral Payment) if you get certain benefits and need help to pay for a funeral you're arranging. Your Funeral Expenses Payment will be deducted from any money you get from the deceased's estate. The estate includes any money or property they had but not a house or personal things left to a widow, widower or surviving civil partner.
Traditional wood coffins are still the most popular type of coffin however, alternative materials are also available. Coffins can also be made of bamboo, wool, wicker, cardboard, willow or recycled materials. Choosing a coffin can be very distressing for some people, but it is a very personal decision to make.
