The Georgian listed building 'Church House' dates from 1766. It first became a Veterinary practice in 1910 and has been in the Tebbutt family since 1960. The equipment we have and use for your pet and animal care is the best mix for effective care and comfort. We wanted something that was clean and uncluttered, but also easy to manage and navigate.

Services
We have 5 Veterinary Surgeons some working on a locum basis, we have a small team of 4 Veterinary Nurses and 3 Evening Assistants. The Administration team comprises of 3 members of staff, we regularly have work experience placements for both secondary school students and student veterinary surgeons.

We have a set of stand-on animal scales which allows simple and accurate monitoring of changes in body weight.
We offer a free pet insurance claim service whereby we will make claims to selected insurance companies* for direct settlement to us. We hope that by doing this we can take away some of the stress from you when a claim has to be made. Settle any account that is unpaid or part unpaid by your Insurer within 30 days of settlement or rejection of the claim by your Insurer.
If your pet has not had a veterinary check in the last 3 months or is unstable on its medication, we are unable to provide a repeat prescription until we have examined them. Please allow up to 2 working days for your request to be processed. Any requests made after 2pm can take up to 3 working days.
It is important to socialise your puppy with other dogs and well organised and professionally run classes here at Church House Veterinary clinic are and great way to build your puppy's confidence and expose them gently to different sights, sounds and other dogs. Puppy parties are priced at 10.00 for three one hour sessions; alternatively you can opt to pay as you go for 4.00.

We were quoted £119 for a spay which ended up being a bit more with dew claw removal. Our dog went back for a check up a few days after the op and presented with signs of a hernia. At another check up my dog was seen by the vet who performed the spay and I was told she needed a hernia op but it would be less than the price of a spay as they literally just open her up and stitch her back up again. So I was extremely shocked to be charged £197 for an operation more simple than a spay and which I was told would be cheaper. Me and my partner felt completely ripped off and we will not be using them

I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at church house vets for helping us last weekend. Unfortunately, our 14 year old dog Ziggy had to be put down. Their service was very sympathetic and supportive at all times. They explained everything and gave us plenty of time and space whilst Ziggy passed away. It was very peaceful. They then dealt with all the after life arrangements.
Today I came home to an unexpected condolence card and an imprint of Ziggy's paw, I'm totally blown away! We plan to frame it and put it next to his picture.

Recommended to us after a terrible experience at another vets( one of those chains.) and we are so pleased it was. Alistair is amazing as are his team. kind, caring and they try to keep the costs down. our very much loved dog started having seizures recently and they helped us day and night. he is doing well and we feel lucky to have them at the end of the phone. just brilliant. thank you so much, your all awesome.
