We look forward to you staying with us in our family run B&B in the beautiful village of Braemar. We are located a few moments walk from the village centre, so you can enjoy a quiet peaceful night sleep and wake up surrounded by the Cairngorm mountains overlooking the highland games park. We've stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago during a quick ski trip in the Highlands so we thought we'd book it again as it was amazing last time.

We weren't disappointed; the owners are very hospitable and friendly, the food is amazing, breakfast is soooo nice and the bar is such a cozy friendly place. Would definitely recommend to couples, families, groups. Stayed here on our tour of Scotland. Amazing, peaceful location in beautiful Braemar.
Services
The Moorfield is owned and run by Grant & Maria Mason. We have renovated/updated quite a lot of the property since arriving to make it a warm/homely family run property including all new room designs and brand new en-suite facilities.

In 2016 we installed a large outdoor decking area providing a seating area with fantastic views of the Highland Games park and surrounding mountains for our guests, and you may catch a glimpse of our resident squirel. In 2020 we made some large changes to the Moorfield, we decided to close our bar and restaurant at the property and relocate them to the village centre at our new venue The Cairn Grill Restaurant & Bar.
Being situated on the banks of the mighty river Dee in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, Braemar is the perfect place to explore stunning scenery, trek mountains, take on hill walks and enjoy a real taste of the Scottish Highlands and it's beautiful wildlife. At the centre of the ancient Scottish Kingdom of Marr, Braemar has witnessed murder, rebellion and intrigue.

Beautiful place in a beautiful location overlooking the Highland Games park, lovely family run hotel with bar and restaurant. If you like your Whisky there is a huge selection here and a great food menu including vegan options. Maria and Grant are wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. Superb.

Lovely stay at this cute hotel. Very comfortable room, and a nice breakfast in the morning. Great location, close enough to the village centre to be walkable but also far away enough that you don't hear the motorbikes! 🤣

Three days in a row and it is closed... Looks like it would be good but signs point you there only to arrive and it is closed. Went at 9pm, 8pm and 4pm on consecutive days and it was shut each day. Not sure if it is still open.

Very good food and service. In need of taking a little bit care of the other “details”…
Starting with the PLUS POINTS:
FOOD: Roast Salmon fillet served with new potatoes and vegetables + Brownies… everything DELICIOUS!!!
SERVICE: our waiter, a young boy, was simply PERFECT!!!
MINUS POINTS:
DINING ROOM decoration WASN’T, to us, UP TO THE FOOD… let’s say: totally conflicting with it!
LOCATION: we had quite a few troubles in finding the restaurant, because of the wrong/lacking signs!
BOTTOM LINE: the minus points can be fixed without a big effort... it’s worth it: you have a

Fantastic Food and Service in lovely setting. The food is absolutely fantastic and so well presented. Having a meal in the bar is also lovely as you catch up with what is going on in the area from the friendly locals. The whole experience, including cost, is wonderful. Thank you so much.
