Osteopathy is a wonderful approach to better health based on a sound understanding of human structure and function and the uniqueness that characterises each of us. Christine Lister has been in Practice since 1989, she has a wealth of experience in treating patients and is the Principal of The Lister Practice, which has been established in Ealing and Hanwell since 1991.

This is a small practice dedicated to delivering safe, effective and ethical osteopathic care to patients. The majority of our patients over more than 25 years have come to us by personal recommendation from people who have been helped by treatment they have received here. Services
Christine trained at The British School of Osteopathy, the longest established osteopathic training institution in Europe and graduated in 1989 after four years full-time study. She has had a lifetime interest in natural therapeutics, diet and exercise, having come to osteopathy after a career in dance.
At your first visit a full case history of your symptoms and past medical history will be taken as well as information about your lifestyle. Osteopaths have a legal and ethical obligation to request consent to then proceed with examination and treatment.

With your consent we then undertake an examination, or series of examinations to marry the information from your case history with the findings on examination, and thereby evaluate a diagnosis and treatment plan.We explain the diagnosis and the suggested treatment plan to you.
At The Lister Practice osteopathic treatment offers safe effective relief from injuries aches and pains. Osteopathy utilises a patient focused, physical approach to restoring, maintaining and promoting well-being. Primarily treatment takes the form of manual therapy involving massage, mobilization of soft-tissues and joints, and spinal manipulation for the treatment of musculo-skeletal and related structural problems.
Her most senior patient for a number of years was a wonderful woman who had passed her 100th year and was still going strong and living independently and benefitting from osteopathic treatment to help keep her mobile. Whatever your age, osteopathy has something to offer where there is a need to improve the way the body's joints and muscles are moving and how the body feels.
If you have Private Health Insurance it may be possible to claim for your treatment. You will need to ask your insurance company about the available level of cover and whether you need to be referred by your GP or a specialist. Please let us know at the time you make your first appointment, if you have health insurance.

Christine has been my osteopath for over 10 years and I would highly recommend her because she is the most incredible osteopath I have ever experienced. For customers who have not had this type of treatment before, you may feel quite nervous and vulnerable, however Christine is extremely thorough in her diagnosis of your injury/problem which results in you feeling comfortable very quickly. She talks you through what she is doing so you can feel relaxed during treatment and is honest about whether she thinks a follow up session is genuinely required.
