Went for a Sunday roast dinner recently. A shandy cost £6.10 (Shocking) and a roast Beef cost £18 which is high for the location. These prices are fine for a beautiful looking pub (which it is), and if the food is good (which it wasn't). The gravy was watery, roast potatoes and cabbage resembled that of a school dinner. Pork was overcooked and Beef was overdone in parts. The parsnips and Yorkshire puddings were nice though. I was so disappointed as this used to be one of my favourite pubs in the area and has been for a long time. I hope it was a one-off. The redeeming quality were the staff,

Loved it! The staff were incredible and noticeably friendly which makes such a difference, especially as we'd never been before. Beautiful restaurant, but the bar area was equally as gorgeous with the fire going. Prompt service, delicious menu and food was scrummy. Great selection of booze, and also alcohol free drinks too so plenty of options of all.
We will absolutely be back!

Really enjoyed my Saturday evening here and we were really grateful to the manager for squeezing 4 of us in on a Saturday, we didn't have a reservation and they were really busy but he was very helpful. We had the fish and chips and the short rib which was delicious. We will be coming back here again.

Large pub, plenty of parking and a large garden. Turned dark whilst we were out the back eating and then the rains came. Anyway, food was good and service very good. Comfy sofas inside etc, and TV screens unobtrusive. You can probably find a nook or a cranny that suits you. Yep, the staff won the day here.

The menu is well thought through, and there's something for everyone. I had the fish which was really well cooked and was pretty on the plate, which I always like. It's a large pub with lots of options for seating. Would have liked to sit outside, but it was a bit cold and wet. Good place to visit..

Beautiful flower display welcoming patrons at the front, stylish interior with several distinctive areas and a large garden at the rear with some cool seating.

Helpful bar staff, good food, unfortunately couldn't order desert at 9:30pm but it was a Tuesday.

We stumbled upon their pub quiz evening (having never been here before) which was a fun addition to the evening. The quiz was well conducted and I can't imagine would spoilt anyone's evening if they were coming for a drink/food and heard it going on in the back ground.

There was a nice atmosphere with a fair few groups of

Went here for family Sunday celebration lunch and had the roast leg of lamb. It was good, although for me a little over cooked; others in the group enjoyed it more than me. It came with traditional Yorkshire pudding, gravy and vegetables; as I was visiting from USA it was a nice reminder of a typical English Sunday lunch. I had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert and that was very good. Good meal for a reasonable price

Very large pub in the small village of Walton on the Hill. Very good food at reasonable prices, sometimes has a barbecue in the garden. Huge garden at the back and has its own car park. They have live music once a week.

Well worth the visit.
