Edinburgh, the inspiring capital of Scotland, is a historic, cosmopolitan and cultured city. The setting is wonderfully striking; the city is perched on a series of extinct volcanoes and rocky crags which rise from the generally flat landscape of the Lothians, with the sheltered shoreline of the Firth of Forth to the north.

Nice local hotel bar with covered outdoor seating. Always a good selection of cask and quality keg beers, often from local breweries. Staff are always polite and friendly. Not many pubs in the Trinity/Ferry Road area, so it’s a good thing that the Gosford Bar is such a nice place to go for a drink. Not tried the bar food, but what I’ve seen others get looks pretty good.

Had the function room booked for a wake through there website and using a solicitor, had a phone call 2 days before the wake wanting a £100 for the hire of the room which we were only using for 2 hrs. No mention on there website of this charge or through the solicitor. The attitude of the owner was disappointing and only wanted the money wants to make quick money for no effort,

During the 2021 lockdown I volunteered with a local charity and part of my work was to support homeless people being housed in this hotel on a temporary basis. All the staff were amazing and went above and beyond to care for their vunerable guests. On mother's Day for example the staff presented mums with flowers. When I went to meet our clients I was made very welcome, offered a safe and socially distanced space and refreshments at no charge. The hotel also did clients laundry again at no extra charge. The council were footing the bill and there's no way they would pay extra for all the extra

We were there just the other day for a funeral tea. The sandwiches were very dry. The sausage rolls and tea were okay. Staff were very attentive, however they kept disappearing out of the room. When I phoned the hotel yesterday to complain and leave feedback I was told someone would look into this matter and phone me back. Which never happened. It's really disappointing . It feels as if the hotel is being run into the ground which is a real shame as its in a really good location for Warriston.

The location was good and the rooms were nice, large and generally clean. However, the toilet door was broken, there was a hole in one wall, the WiFi didn’t work in my room and I woke up to a spider the size of face on my duvet! Despite these problems, the staff were pleasant and maintained social distance.

We went there after my mother's funeral. It is especially convenient for Warriston Crematorium. The room was well laid out and the Coffee, tea, sandwiches, sausage rolls and shortbread were all fine. The staff were very helpful when it came to bringing in more chairs. They offered paper bags to take away the leftover food. I would thoroughly recommend this as a venue. We stayed on to have a final drink in the bar through the hall and it was pleasant too.

We were there for a wake. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They served tea, coffee, bacon/sausage rolls and biscuits. All were to a high standard. The room was a sensible size for the group and was plain but we'll kept. The hotel is a 3 minute walk from the crematorium we used so was very easy to get to.

We stayed here while in Edinburgh. Not a bad walk into the city center, it was in what seemed a nice, safe neighborhood. The room we stayed in was on the top floor and very very clean, and I loved getting new shortbread and tea daily. You have to try the restaurant downstairs as well, that's where I had haggis for the first time, and it was amazing.

2 weeks ago, my husband and I had our wedding reception here and we could not have been happier! Davide, Craig and all the bar staff were so friendly and helpful, right from the outset, and seemed to really want to make sure we had a great time. They bent over backward to make sure we had everything we needed. The hotel was well presented, clean, spacious, and had everything we needed to make it a party to remember. Unfortunately, I didn't get a taste of the buffet but the reports back from our guests have been really good! We loved every minute of our party and are now just thinking of an
