Welcome to Cherry Class where we love to learn through play and exploration. We learn inside and outside about all sorts of fascinating things from bugs to number bonds. Welcome to Willow Class - Year 5 and Year 6! We love to learn and have been developing our skills as independent learners. Welcome to our thriving village school in the heart of Ditcheat village.

We work closely with our whole community to ensure that we achieve our mission statement to Inspire a Love of Learning for Life. Through our curriculum, we develop the whole child to ensure they are ready for the next stage of their life. It is through the curriculum that we embed our values of respect, diversity, perseverance, communication, thinking, collaboration and caring.
Services
We will have high expectations of our children and we will encourage them to develop a deep seated belief in their abilities. We will prepare our children to be lifelong learners who are confident, independent and mentally strong. We will care for, encourage and support our children in a warm, inclusive and vibrant environment where they are safe to make mistakes.
In the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) we work towards our seventeen Early Learning Goals (ELG) and develop our Characteristics of Effective Learning (COEL). These are an essential foundation for us to become successful, well-rounded and eager learners throughout our lives. We learn through play inside and outside - sometimes it is adult directed but most of the time it is child initiated (where we follow our own ideas).
The overall management of the school is the responsibility of the governors. They work closely with the Head and Local Authority to appoint staff, ensure that the National Curriculum and statutory policies are implemented and monitor the budget. They represent parents, the Local Authority and the local community.
The pupil premium grant is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England. It's a school-level grant that gives schools extra resources to help them meet challenges, including those arising from deprivation. Our school is a smaller than average primary school with 6% of children with SEN and 18% eligible for Pupil Premium funding.
School improvement is ongoing and we work closely with children, staff and governors to ensure that we are meeting the ever changing needs of our community. Our school development plan is reviewed regularly by staff and governors. Individual performance targets are based upon the school development priorities and also reviewed regularly.
