Our school is a thriving, two form entry school, in the community of Hartford, and this is my eighth year here as Headteacher. I am exceptionally proud of what we offer to our families - despite being a large school, we pride ourselves on knowing each and every child and their family and work hard to create a very inclusive and welcoming environment.
Our school culture is a very positive one - happy engaged children, enjoying their learning and motivated enthusiastic staff. School feels calm and purposeful, with a sense of enjoyment underpinning all teaching and learning. Our Core Values of Respect, Responsibility, Aspiration and Pride are visible all around the building and our children can articulate how these are demonstrated on a daily basis.

We are always very busy and our learning happens in lots of ways. You will see us playing or is that what we are really doing? For example, some of us were fishing in the water. But what were we catching? Numicon pieces and matching them to the corresponding digit. We worked together to decide who had which piece and which number should match it.
We and our TAs, Mrs Pugh, Miss Anderson, Mrs Karle and Mrs Newman, work closely together to ensure all children are happy, safe and enjoy their time at Hartford Primary School. In Year 3 we love to learn and we try to make all our learning hands on, fun and exciting. As Year 3 is the first year of KS2, we are focussing on becoming more independent and taking responsibility for our learning and belongings and well as having lots of fun!
We and our TAs, Mrs Tomkinson and Mrs Baynes work closely together to ensure all children are happy, safe and enjoy their time at Hartford Primary School. In Year 1 we continue the learning journey from Early Years to further develop the core skills across the curriculum. We then build upon these to ensure our children excel and achieve their very best across a broad and balanced curriculum.
In Year Four, we aim to teach a broad and balanced curriculum whilst ensuring the children are happy and safe. The children will experience various topics, trips and experiences throughout Year Four. Homework/Reading: The children are expected to read at least three times per week for 10 minutes and are able to change their reading book in the mornings.
Year 5 is an important year as the children start their transition in to Upper Key Stage 2 and this helps prepare them for life in Year 6 and beyond! Here in Year 5, we teach a broad and balanced curriculum and the children experience various topics, trips and experiences. This term we are looking at The Water Cycle and Northwich.
