Services
Our mission is to be one of the best care homes in Southampton by providing only the highest standards of care and comfort to our residents. Oaklands Rest Home is a dementia registered residential care home that is equipped to deal with the many complex needs that arise from having Dementia. It is situated in the attractive and tranquil settings of the New Forest National Park.
Our Southampton care home treats every resident as an individual. We passionately believe in person-centred care, which starts at the very beginning of a resident's journey here at Oaklands. Everyone should be consulted on the decisions that affect them.
Therefore, when a resident arrives at Oaklands, we sit down with them and close relatives to work out a detailed personalised care plan, which not only sets out the level of care they need, but also their likes and dislikes. It could be as simple as the way they wish to be referred to or when and where they want to eat.

The person-centred care we deliver to our residents is only possible thanks to the dedication of the wonderful team at our home. Meet some of the friendly faces you are likely to see when visiting Oaklands. With his highly analytical mind and degree in Computer Engineering, Anish took on the role of Operations Director at Oaklands to ensure the best working environment and processes are in place.
At Oaklands Rest Home, we treat everyone as individuals. We tailor our services and support to meet the needs of our residents, so whether they require specialist support from an experienced dementia care home, or somewhere to enjoy a cup of tea a few days a week, we can help. As a residential and dementia care home, our team can provide the support and expert care needed to help those living with dementia receive the best quality of life.
We look beyond their medical conditions and encourage them to be themselves. We believe in involving and tailoring the care services at our residential care home to their unique interests, abilities, history and, importantly, their personality! That's why we create a varied activities calendar, organised by our dedicated Lifestyle Co-ordinator.

Mum went to live in Oaklands 18 months ago due to her advanced Alzheimer's and died a couple of weeks ago. Naturally we had heard all the negative stories about homes and were fairly anxious, however we consider ourselves extremely lucky that mum was looked after here. She was treated with care, consideration and compassion and the staff went beyond what should have been expected of them in ensuring that she was as happy as she could possibly be.
