The Windmill Inn
We have thrown open our beautiful pub inside and welcome you also to stay in our B&B rooms, cooked breakfasts available on the weekend. The heated Lodge due to popularity will also remain and you will still be able to book tables there too. Please use our 'book your stay' tab or use the 'table booking widget' on the left to book tables.

We are an Inn with boutique rooms serving quality food focused on seasonal produce locally sourced and craftfully prepared and cooked. A real Sussex country pub dating from the 17th Century with modern tones. We offer a warm Sussex welcome in the public bar, saloon bar, dining room and two beer gardens; perfect for families looking onto open fields.
Services
Come off the A23 at the junction signposted to Cowfold and Bolney (A272) and follow the road west for 3.5 miles into Cowfold. Navigate the two mini roundabouts and continue travelling west in the direction of Billingshurst for 1.4 miles. Then you take a left hand turning signposted Partridge Green.
We offer seven characterful bedrooms able to accomodate sixteen guests in our 17th Century Inn. They all have en-suite bathrooms or shower rooms - every room is different. Period charm with comfy beds, flat screen TV's, invigorating showers and free WiFi. Two of the rooms can be interconnecting and one family room benefits from two bedrooms and a bathroom.
If you want to book multiple rooms please book each room individually as the system will not allow you to book them together - if you would rather run it through on the phone please call us. All our rooms include a continental breakfast with a cooked breakfast option (additional charge) available on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8.30am to 11am.
Lots of good walks to get to us with many footpaths in the area and a short diversion off the Downs Link near West Grinstead to stop for a refreshing pint in our beer garden or warm up by the fire.

If you take a left turning by the metal livestock feeder (on the Downslink heading south from West Grinstead) and then across a field, over a farm track, over the corner of a field to a stile in the middle of an old hedge, through the middle of the next field towards Chucks Farm - straight ahead of you. When you reach the hedge bordering the farm follow the field right handed up the hill and through a five bar gate.

Very quaint country pub. Only stayed the one night but the room was clean and comfortable with all that was required for an overnight stop. The evening meal was well prepared and served by friendly staff which was welcoming after a day driving around. A very pleasant and too short of stay. Didn't see a windmill though and forgot to enquire.

Lovely Inn with great food and wonderful service with friendly waiters. The outdoor seating, overlooking the horses in the farm, is highly recommended if the weather is good. The price is very reasonable and the quality is good. Parking space is limited which might be a challenge when there's full occupancy.

A fantastic place to go and eat of an evening!
Would definitely recommend!
Although it is a little out of the way of everything it is a great little place to come to for a lovely meal or just a few drinks 🍺
The prices are very fair as we ordered two Pizzas three alcoholic drinks (doubles and a glass of house red) and more sides then you could possibly eat and the total bill came to a scrape over Β£70 for a lovely meal and plenty of booze.
There is just about enough parking outside if people park courteously however you would only come here if you know it.
They have a plot of land at the

Looking for a meal on a Monday evening is not as easy as you think. At the moment, many pubs are running on minimum staff and close their kitchens on Mondays. Having been disappointed by our first choice, we were directed here. It was not busy when we arrived, however customers drifted in.
We ordered steaks. The food was enjoyable and reasonably priced. The beer was okay and we left having had a very pleasant evening. What more can you ask for?
