Great place and atmosphere, there are two sides, one that is sort of like a fast food restaurant and the other is a proper pub.

We didn’t stay but we visited the pud for food….
Cannot recommend this place enough. We turned up drenched after a morning walking in the snow and rain, and were greeted with warmth in a lovely atmosphere by two friendly members of staff, one behind the bar and one the chef.
I asked if the one vegan option on the menu was available (it was) and the chef explained he could make one of the other main meals vegan too, if we wanted. As a party of two, we ordered both the vegan main meals and shared. The chef went above and beyond for us and didn’t hesitate when offering us the further options

Very poor experience staying at the Buck Inn. The shower in our room was broken and despite informing the patron he did not fix it. The patron also did not seem to care enough to seek to resolve this issue and we were made to feel as though this was our problem. No sincere apology or offer of compensation/condolence until we packed our bags and left one night early. Would only recommend if you want a poor customer service experience.

Food was OK.
Asked for a highchair and was given one that strapped to the seat, which would have been fine, but looked like it hadn't been cleaned ever! Old food stuck to it, not what you want anytime but especially in these times, when cleanliness should be increased!
Got the impression that they didn't care if they had your business or not.
Won't be returning

Outstanding pub! Went the extra mile for a hiker who had run out of batteries. Food was lovely and it was great to try the local Ales on pump.

Food and drinks were delicious and atmosphere was cosy and comfortable even though it was quite crowded. Bathrooms were clean. Pet-friendly as well, so that's a plus.
Would have given a 4 or 5 star rating, but unfortunately was left with a sour taste because of a rude staff member working the bar/till.

Walking by and stopped for dinner after completing the trail and absolutely loved every second of our day. A busy group of 6 adults and 3 infants we were well accommodated and made to feel very welcome. The food was phenomenal and the service was lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The staff are amazing, would go back in a heartbeat.
