Research is increasingly showing acupuncture to be effective for a range of conditions and many types of chronic pain. Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body. Research is increasingly showing acupuncture to be an effective treatment option for a range of conditions such as migraines and chronic pain.

Acupuncture aims to address the root of a persons health issue, rather than focus on specific symptoms in isolation. By regulating the nervous system, Acupuncture can reduce stress and promote homeostasis, helping restore the body to physiological state of balance.
Services
Traditional Chinese Massage (Tui Na) is uses a unique combination of massage techniques including; deep tissues massage, acupressure and trigger point therapy as well as stretches and mobilisations. Dating back more than 2000 years, elements of Tui Na have inspired many modern forms of massage including: Shiatsu, Myofascial release therapy, Reflexology and Chiropractice.
Cupping & Moxibustion (Moxa) are usually used as an adjuctive therapy in combination with acupuncture and massage as part of a comprehensive and individually tailored treatment plan. Cupping is becoming increasingly popular, especially among athletes, for musculoskeletal pain and injuries. Traditionally, cupping has been used in many different cultures for a variety of pain conditions and respiratory issues.
Nick is a highly qualified and experienced practitioner based in South Devon. He has undertaken extensive further clinical training in the UK, USA and China, studying with many of the world's leading experts in fields of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Nick combines his use of traditional techniques and skills with a comprehensive understanding of modern anatomy, pathology and the latest scientific research.
We engage in evidence-based practice by routinely monitoring our patient outcomes. This helps ensure that we are providing the most effective possible treatments and delivering high quality healthcare. Our patient results are considered one type of evidence; called pragmatic "real-world" evidence. I started a course of acupuncture and massage with Nick for a debilitating chronic atypical facial pain.
In this video series, Nick demonstrates some evidence-based rehabilitation exercises for some common types of musculoskeletal pain. Good rehabilitation is often an important part of helping to recover from a physical injury or to help manage a chronic pain condition. Proper nutrition plays an essential part both in the prevention and recovery of a wide range of chronic illnesses.
