This was a better pub for beer when it was a Wetherspoons. It is now much better for food than it is for beer. The fish and chips, for example, is really yummy but the last time I went in (a couple of days ago) it had no cask ales at all which is a shame if you like to have good beer with excellent food.

Staff were good, very friendly and attentive. Food was nice as well, very decent sized portions.
Really disappointed though that when one friend had to cancel in the morning due to sickness, we were told they had to pay for the full meal (not just the deposit) as the food had already been made. We understand that it's a business that needs to survive, and it also seems extremely wasteful and a strange way to operate, especially in these times when it makes most sense to stay away if feeling ill.

Good Neighborhood pub, not as much character as some older pubs like the faltering fullback. Good food and friendly staff. We just were there for a lovely beef and mushroom pie with mash - above average. Usually can get a table and have a nice pint! We also love their sister pub the Gatehouse up in Highgate.

A real oasis of a pub on the bustling Stroud Green Road, they boast about their Sunday Roasts and they have every reason to. The meat is cooked to perfection as are the potatoes veg and Yorkshire pudding. Drinks are reasonably priced albeit London prices and that's a really good range of them on tap too.

This pub is owned by Nicolson's, a chain with locations all across the country. As can be expected, it has a rather common pub menu that is standardized chain wide.
I ordered the seafood pie that came with veggies and a side salad. The pie was quite good with large chunks of fish, a good cream sauce, and a topping of cheddar mash potatoes. The veggies were unexceptional.
The salad was another matter. It was made of funny leafy veggies with cheese and tomatoes. There was no dressing. Overall, the British really need some lessons in salad making.
Suffice it to say that this is an average

Went here for a Sunday Roast prior to a walk along the Parkland Way trail. Immediately impressed with the cozy, yet contemporary decor of the place. Faux mounted trophy animals and a quiet back room made it a prime roast location.
Service was some of the best we've experienced in London. Waiter was super helpful, witty, and friendly and gave a great rundown of their ales on tap. Beef roast was good, plenty of gravy and the potatoes were just the right amount of crispy. Yorkshire pudding was a smidge crispy, but that's literally the only negative thing I can say about our experience
