Lovely ambience. Good prices. Was served by someone called Felix, who was personable and an all around nice guy. If you ever come to the kings head in Islington, you’ll be lucky if you get Served by him.

Not for me, whilst I can see the appeal for some I wasn’t overly impressed. There is of course history and character but just not for me. Again common theme for me, range of bottled beer could be expanded to some Belgium stuff.

Atmosphere was brill at this pub, members of staff were incredibly hospitable and fun, especially a barman called Claudio!
Highly recommended place if you are on Upper St and not sure where to have your drinks ✨

It's great that we still have these old pubs which retain its original character (as opposed to some of my favourites that have been stripped out and devoid... don't get me started!) But my second pet hate is short measures (why do pubs do this?). Experience spoiled by the barman arguing with a customer rather than simply apologising and topping their pint up :(

Great to be back seeing live theatre again! The current show, the award-winning No Strings Attached, is actually not at the King's Head Theatre Pub but 2mins up the street at a new site-specific pop-up venue The Ignition Room within the Islington Square development. The show's thought provoking and runs until 19-Jun, catch it while you can!

The interior and the atmosphere are incredible. It's fun, bohemian and cozy at the same time. A gorgeous dog was welcoming us, I don't know if it's a custom, but meeting him (or her?) was also a pleasure

After so much gentrification, I naturally seek those old school-style boozers which are quickly disappearing. At the King's Head pub on Upper Street, which is only a few minutes walk from Angel/Highbury & Islington station, I am so happy to have found one.
Even before I stepped inside, the noticed the handsome exterior with its dark marble facade, pillars, and old-style letterings announcing the pub to passersby. Once I stepped inside, I noticed how cosy it was. The inviting bar dominates the centre room, the wooden floor creaks beneath you, and posters of old movies and movie stars adorn the

It's good - go there. They are a charity with no public funds. They pay their actors equity rates

Stay away from this place ... Arrogant bar staff ... The only reason we went there was because of the good reviews ....we waited for almost 20 minutes and we did not get served ... The bar staff kept serving other people and avoiding us ....when we politely told him that we have been waiting here for 20 minutes and have not been served he was rude and arrogant and he told us you will have to wait another 20 minutes ... So we left and went to the Hope and Anchor where the service was awesome ....

I absolutely love going here! First off this is a proper theatre even though it's behind a pub. They host some really cool shows here. Given the size it is intimate but it adds to the experience of the show and all the shows adapt so well to it, that you cannot imagine it being performed anywhere else. They do shows for kids too, and serve generally 11 flavours of ice-cream 😀. For the price of the ticket this is just amazing.
Also if you don't fancy pub food there are so many food places around here that you can make a afternoon or night out of this so easily!
