Kea Pre-school & Out Of School Club
We are situated just outside of Truro, near Playing Place. We provide quality care and education for 2-11 year olds over various sessions throughout the year usually between the hours of 7.45am and 6pm. We have a highly qualified staff team, all qualified to at least Level 3 and nearly half qualified to degree level.

All staff are First Aid trained, Safeguarding trained and DBS checked on the update service. We were rated 'Outstanding' for the Personal Development and Behaviour and Attitudes of the children. Set in a rural area near Truro and next to Kea School, our preschool has quiet and beautiful surroundings.
Services
Our preschool runs during term time, but we also offer holiday care and before and after school care for our preschool children. We provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment that promotes learning through play, using a wide range of resources, and the opportunity for children to develop their social skills as they play and learn alongside and with other children.
Occasionally we may have some earlier finishes depending on bookings and staffing - please ask when you book. We have various sessions available and you can book by the hour if you would prefer. Our current base charge is: 3+ years - 4.00 per hour, 2 years - 4.25 per hour (this is due to 2 year olds having a lower staff:children ratio).
The Early Years Foundation Stage requires that we supply parents and carers with a short written summary of their child's development in the three prime areas of learning and development: personal, social and emotional development; physical development; and communication and language; when a child is aged between 24 - 36 months.
Forest School supports, encourages and inspires children's learning, allowing them to learn at their own pace through curiosity in the world around them. We are so pleased to be introducing Forest School sessions that will take place once a week from the Autumn term 2021. We have a wonderful space that promotes cooperation, communication, respect for others and of the environment.
We are committed to encouraging healthy lifestyles at Kea Preschool. Children's eating habits formed in the early years have consequences for their health and development in later life which is why it is so important to promote healthy eating from the start. We are encouraging less sugar consumption by having a policy of no chocolate smoothies or sweets in lunchboxes.
