The Elsinore is great if you're on a shoestring budget. Rooms start at £25 a night and include a (very good) full English breakfast.

Don't expect luxury. It's pretty basic, and some of the fittings are past their use-by date. But it's clean, and the hospitality is great. I thanked Mr Khan (the owner) for his hospitality and told him he took obvious pride in it, to which he replied, It is my duty, sir. A real gentleman.

There are plans to upgrade the entire hotel in the near future.

The hotel is in an excellent location, right on the seafront, a 2-minute walk from downtown
