Southwell Golf Club is renowned for its welcoming and friendly atmosphere to both members and visitors alike, both on the course and in our spacious clubhouse that was first opened in 2007 where you can relax both before and after your game, enjoy the first class facilities and excellent food and drink on offer.
The club was founded in 1993, on the estate of the popular Southwell Racecourse, some 2 miles from Southwell and 5 miles from the market town of Newark. The front nine holes are located in the centre of the racecourse and features our signature hole, the 7th, a straightforward par 3 - as long as you ignore the water between the tee and the island green - our equivalent to the 17th at Sawgrass!

Services
Southwell Golf Club, situated in the heart of the Nottinghamshire countryside, was established in 1993 and enjoys a reputation that is second to none. It has two contrasting nines - the front nine is set in the middle of the racecourse and is a true test for the best of golfers with plenty of water which highlights our signature 7th green.
Visitors are welcome to Southwell Golf Club at all times and can look forward to an excellent round, followed by some of our renowned catering. Please read our rules on dress code and handicap certificates below, to ensure your visit runs as smoothly as possible. A dress code is operated both on the golf course and in the clubhouse for members and visitors.

Fitted me in due to my booking error, even though it was very busy (between Christmas and New Year)....the front 9 in the Racecourse was in great condition despite the days of prior heavy rain. Loved it. The back 9, though different in character was really interesting. Loved the last two holes in particular.... Will return to play it in quieter drier conditions. Thank you very much. Great course and people.

The course is like playing 2 totally different 9 holes. Front 9 in the middle of the Race course is quite open with loads of water hazards and tight fairways. The back 9 is tree lined and very tight. The greens were amazing and not played on many better in the Lincolnshire area. Few problems b4 tee off with buggys being let out when we'd already booked them, But the course made up for it. Recommended a visit.

Booked the Tee through tee off times having never played here before. All I can say is the staff and members are very welcoming and made you wand to go back. The course is extremely good value for money and presents some challenges, especially the 7th hole. During my visit I lost my car keys whilst on the course. I then left my details should they be found. The following morning I had a phone call, the groundsman had found them and made me aware to collect. Would highly recommend this place.

Very disappointed today.
After checking the website to see current course information ,which stated open front nine only .
I thought ok ,fair enough back nine has some problems.I hadn’t had much opportunity to play all year so 9 holes is better than none.I got all my golf clothes on, kit loaded up and drove to Southwell only to be told by the pro the course was not open as I was about to walk to the first tee .Even the daily notice board hadn’t been updated with this information.
Sorry to be a miserable git ,had to rant somewhere,
Everything else about the club is spot on though.
