The Village Nursery & Pre-School is a private nursery in the popular little village of Gee Cross. We are committed to providing outstanding care and education for children between the ages of 0 to 5 years old. We understand that children are born ready, able and eager to learn. At The Village Nursery and Pre-school we believe that 'children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person' (DfCSF, 2012).
As well as being highly-qualified, experienced and extremely passionate about working with children, all our staff are friendly and helpful and committed to working with you as parents to enable each and every child to have the best possible nursery experience.Experience I have working with children: I have worked in the childcare sector since 2009.

The Village Nursery and Pre-school is organised into 4 separate rooms to cater for the needs of each child at their own developmental stage. We also plan educational programs that support children in four specific areas, through which the three prime areas are strengthened and applied.
Our older rooms promote learning through a variety of child initiated, adult initiated and adult led learning experiences as well as a balance of more focused learning.We deliver the Letters and Sounds Phonics Programme that is compulsory in all schools to give the children a really good start to their Primary Education.

Staff's understanding and knowledge of child development and how children learn are phenomenal. Babies demonstrate high levels of curiosity and thoroughly enjoy exploring the environment and investigating the resources on offer. They are extremely motivated to become mobile as they rapidly move towards the toys and equipment that excite them.
Key persons are extremely caring, attentive and nurturing and demonstrate genuine affection for the babies and children that they care for. Care practices are excellent and make an extremely positive contribution to children's emotional security, health and well-being. Waddlers are extremely busy people!
Between the ages of two and three, Toddlers take huge steps in their development. They are now much more physically able, they are keen to explore and imitate the world around them and they need more space, time and freedom to do this. Children are building friendships as well as their language development.

Just the best nursery I've came across so far. Having 3 older children who attended different settings I can honestly say I had the best experience so far by sending my daughters here. One of my twins appeared to very introverted and timid, she is now non stop dancer and very open to anything that comes across. Another one keeps singing nursery rhymes. I'm so very impressed by this nursery, I would recommend to absolutely anyone who's greatest desire is to have their child to bloom. Much love to all the staff, I'm beyond grateful for all the hard work and love you've poured into my children.

What a wonderful, caring and simply fantastic bunch!
Having two children this is the second time around for me so have experienced both nurseries and childminders.
With my first child, after experiencing horrid, uncaring and simply badly run nurseries, I opted for a childminder for one to one care but this had its drawbacks with my child’s confidendce and sociability skills so wasn’t an ideal choice but the only one I had at the time.
I was very reluctant to even consider a nursery this time around but how wrong I was !
The team at the nursery have filled me with a massive amount of confidence

If it was possible to put 0 stars i would. Its unbeleivable that this nursery is still allowed to look after children. Please visit the Ofsted website to view the reports. The reason for my review is that my child was forgotten about and left in a room on her own whilst remaining staff and children were all outside. The nursery have refused to provide a sufficient diary of events or cctv footage. Staff involved are also still working for the nursery. Other parents have also expressed there concerns regarding this setting. I would avoid this nursery where possible and utilise one of the other nurseries

Im not sure of the motives of the bad review on here but I just read it and have felt compelled to point out that I live in the area and it is part of a campaign of rubbish posted in the last week by someone on various social media forums. The Nursery don't get to rate their customers in response but it happens to be my childs nursery, so, here's my view...
I have been here since we moved here in March 2015 and have nothing but praise. My child went here, he's now left for school and I my nephew now attends there. My son loved it and my nephew is having the same amazing experience.

Absolutely fabulous nursery! Fantastic staff and excellent owners who go out of there way to make the nursery wonderful, they are very much involved and are very passionate about the smooth running of their nursery. The nursery is warm, welcoming and bright. My son attended the nursery since being 11 months old he stayed until leaving to go to school. As my son has a late birthday I was worried about the work load at school. However after his first week at school his teacher asked for a meeting. Apparently my son was ahead with his reading and phonics, his teacher was that impressed she contacted

Love the staff at the nursery.... the room staff are all so nice and professional and so good with the children....Such a shame the money is the only thing that's important to the owners.
Problem lies with the management the minute you have a problem they are unavailable, hide behind emails and will not take you seriously.
We got told to leave by a phone call from a withheld number at night from the owners husband. Very intimidating.....
All because we refused to pay for a snow day which wasnt even bad weather...they decided to close but still wanted the
