Our little institution has been providing a warm Italian/Welsh welcome to guests and diners for 35 years. The Glendale has 15 rooms, with en suite bathrooms, and WiFi throughout.

As locals we decided to try the Restaurant again after a couple of disappointing visits a year or two ago. We won’t be rushing back. The food was quite nice, no grumbles there, however the staff were extremely diffident and did not make us feel valued customers. I needed to leave our table in order to find a member of staff to take our order for both main course and dessert, the second time to find three members of staff chatting together round the corner by the bar. The restaurant was not busy. All in all a disappointing experience, we won’t be going back.

Great local & authentic Italian restaurant, based in ground floor of the Glendale Hotel, that has been a mainstay of Penarth for over 20 years.
Recently the main restaurant and kitchen have been significantly renovated in a tasteful way, which thankfully has still retained its great character.
Great to go to as either full restaurant or just drinks & food in bar side. Food is all beautifully and authenticity Italian.

I first came to villa napoli a year ago whilst staying in the glendale Hotel above it, a year later I have come back after being so impressed the first time, fantastic authentic Italian food, so delicious, the portion size of the food is fantastic, not too small and it is not too big either, just right, the atmosphere is fantastic, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. I will make sure that I come again the next time I come to visit the area again.

After just looking up the contact details of this hotel on the net, I was surprised and saddened to find that there are a number of poor reviews. This hotel is far superior to all of the comments that have been made on other sites (including some of the good comments). Please read this and don't be blinded by others!
This hotel is excellently positioned in Penarth, 4 miles outside of Cardiff. This is perfect for a stay in Cardiff because it's quieter and in an extremely nice area. With the train station literally just outside the front door, access into the city is a regular 15 minute

Lovely Italian restuant, came here with a few family members and my fiance. We all had a wonderful evening, great food and a excellent service. I would recommend coming here for special occasions or even just for nice evening with friends and family. As the atomosphere is wonderful and it was great prices for the quality of food and service. Only downside was the decoration was a little old fashioned, but i suppose it was in keeping with the Italian theme.

A very reasonably priced family run italian restaurant. Never had a bad meal. We have always been with friends, but I've noticed it is also popular for a romantic evening.
It is also a hotel, but I don't know anyone who has stayed here.
Never had a problem parking.
