Riverside Veterinary Practice
If you're looking for a veterinary surgery that delivers the best possible care from a professional and compassionate team, look no further than Riverside Vets. You can be sure your pet is in the best possible hands with us, whether they're in for a quick check-up or a more complex investigation.

What's more, we are affiliated with national pet insurance company PetPlan, meaning that you're able to receive 4 weeks' free insurance for your puppy or kitten before you commit to a full plan.Whatever your pet needs, and whatever time they need it, we're here to help them. We offer a range of services and treatments, including routine procedures like vaccinations, worming and flea prevention and neutering surgery.
Services
Riverside Vets was established in 1981, at which time the practice in Livingston was the first veterinary clinic in the area. Our current owners Mandy and Graeme joined the team in 1986 and 1992 respectively, and bought out both practices when the original owner retired in 2001. Following this, they embarked on an extensive programme of renovations across both sites.
We want to let you know what this means for you, your pets and veterinary services for the time being. Guidance from our governing body is that all veterinary practices should move to an emergency only service until these restrictions are lifted. Given this advice, we have had to make the very difficult decision to temporarily close both our Bathgate and Armadale branches and run an emergency only clinic from our main site in Livingston.
When it comes to your furry friend, you naturally want them to be healthy, happy and able to enjoy their life for as long as possible. The key to this is preventative healthcare - making sure your pet is examined by one of our professional vets on a regular basis. This ensures that any problems that may occur are spotted early and can be treated before they develop into potentially serious conditions.
Many pet owners may be under the impression that the only purpose of neutering an animal is to prevent them from reproducing. There are also several other benefits to having your pet spayed or castrated. Unless you plan to breed from your pet, having them neutered is often considered the most responsible course of action.
Western medicine has certainly cemented its place in treating a variety of both severe and minor medical conditions, but have you ever wondered whether there is an alternative to endless drugs and tablets? Here at Riverside Vets we are proud to offer a range of alternative therapies to help your pet.

Better to be with a vet that has longstanding reputation in West lothian and trusted by many furry friend owners. Fair prices and great staff. You can trust this business with your furry friend.

In my opinion these guys are great! Comparing it to another vets that I did go to in the past, Riverside, obviously still need to make money but I feel that they care more about our beloved furry friends than money. The care and respect they give to our furrbabies is top class and I cannot fault them at all!

The care my cat Macy received at Riverside Vets in Livingston was exceptional. Macy’s main vets were Rhona and Holly, who were both very knowledgeable, kind and clearly wanted what was best for her. They also treated me with care and patience through what was quite a stressful and upsetting period. Sadly, my sweet Macy had to be put to sleep last week and distraught as I was (still am) the care and respect shown made things a little easier. Rhona was the vet with us when Macy went to sleep and she showed great compassion and respect through the procedure, explaining everything and allowing us

Positive: Professionalism, Reliability, Responsiveness
We had to have our beautiful Cat Spyro put to sleep last night, the vet was remarkable. I have had pets for years and Rhona put me at ease, allowed us some time and she explained everything so that we knew what was happening. I would highly recommend Riverside Vets at Livingston and I can't thank them enough 🐶🐈‍⬛
