We also teach equality, diversity and inclusion through all of our core values. In the 2020-21 academic year, this is enshrined in a special whole-school project based on civil rights, the Black Lives Matter movement and citizenship. To continue developing a rich, creative curriculum that complements the national curriculum and gives all learners the best opportunities to explore the world around them.

Fundamental British values are supported by the core values of our school. We regularly teach children about their rights and responsibilities as 21st Century citizens of the UK. We aim for our Langton pupils to become valuable and fully rounded members of society who treat others with respect and tolerance, regardless of background.

Every year at Langton we embark on a project with a common thread that runs through every year group and across the whole academic year. These have usually focussed on global social issues such as plastic pollution and climate change. Last year our project was "What makes us human?" but of course our exploration of this question was cut short by the pandemic.

The pupils in our school are organised into three houses: Buckingham, Caernarfon and Windsor. Our Year 6's have the opportunity to put themselves forward as "House Captain" at the beginning of the year and are elected by votes from all the pupils in their house across the school. The chosen House Captains form our Junior Leadership Team and they are regularly invited to contribute their ideas and vision for the school.

Langton Green Primary School is an 'Operation Encompass' school. Operation Encompass is an initiative between schools and the police, in supporting children who may be experiencing domestic abuse. At Langton Green Primary School, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
