St. Johns Primary School has served the community in the St. John's Hill area since 1865. The original St. John's Church of England Primary School was housed in a building opposite The Church of St John's the Baptist, in Quakers Hall Lane. The school is referred to in the early years as being a mixed school before it was divided into three departments - boys, girls and infants.
St John's Church of England Primary School is situated at the top of the hill in Bayham Road, with its main entrance in Kennedy Gardens. If school is closed due to extreme weather conditions (such as heavy snow) a message will be posted on the homepage of the school website. Announcements are also made on BBC Radio Kent (96.7fm or DAB).
We are delighted to be able to share our Ofsted report with you, which we feel reflects very well on our school. We can officially say that St John's continues to be a good school. Diversity is celebrated and all members of the community are equally valued, cared for and supported. The Science leader's determination to provide a stimulating and challenging curriculum has transformed science teaching and learning.
Staff at St John's Primary School are passionate about the learning opportunities we provide for all our pupils. We believe that childhood should be a happy, investigative and an enquiring time in our lives where there are no limits to curiosity and there is a thirst for new experiences, skills and knowledge.
