Situated just outside of Congleton on the edge of the Staffordshire Moorland countryside and the last country pub in Cheshire, The Castle Inn is the very best in matching great food and great drinks without losing the feel of a great pub. We think you will love the fabulous new interior, suitable for a relaxing drink and or eating there are no restrictions find yourself a corner and relax.
The Castle enjoys stunning views across the countryside and golf course and don't forget to enjoy our stunning terraced beer garden overlooking Congleton Golf Course. At the Castle Inn we use high quality, fresh ingredients in our cooking. We have developed an exciting menu of classic pub food with a true appreciation for fresh, regional ingredients.

Polite service, friendly staff, clean and well presented establishment in good, well maintained order. Better than average food at a respectable price. The place looks to have had a recent paint job on the outside but could do with a bit of attention inside and the outside sign either needs cleaning or replacing.
The furniture is very 1970s and it would benefit from some more country or heraldic decor (stags heads or swords or shields or armour etc.) and maybe some floristry to lift the place but there are plenty of photos of castles and they are doing a lot right.
The food was decent quality

Friendly local pub serving excellent home cooked and tasty main courses with 3 real ales. We enjoyed attentive service and prompt delivery.
Good portion size and definitely fulfilling as a lunchtime stop before we walked it off at the nearby National Trust Biddulph Grange gardens afterwards.
One pub we’ll return to again on a future visit.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough if you are in Congleton. The music and overall vibe was super relaxed. The food was way beyond what we expected for a little country pub. My boyfriend had the steak burger and said it was the best he'd ever had. We shared a warm brownie for dessert and we didn't regret it. We will be back if we're in this part of the world again!
