The Plough Inn is a beautiful half timbered, half Cheshire brick Inn dating back 400 years. Located in the beautiful rural hamlet of Eaton in the heart of Cheshire and overlooking the Peak District National Park, The Plough Inn offers you the perfect place to eat, drink and stay. Whether you visit us to eat, have a drink, stay with us or hold your wedding reception here, you will receive a warm welcome and excellent hospitality.

The Plough is licensed to hold Civil Wedding Ceremonies and we can we cater for weddings large and small in our beautiful barn. We have some wonderful walks (including The Cloud Walk - a 7 mile walk from here to Boswell Cloud) as well as some beautiful houses, gardens and picturesque villages and towns.

Gorgeous setting for a wedding. The restaurant was also packed out on a Friday lunchtime so the food must be great. Will try and visit again for food!

My partner and I booked spontaneously booked to stay here just before New Years Eve. We booked a bed and breakfast rate, and were allocated into Room 8 (lower level).
The room was spacious, with a double bed and en-suite bathroom (bath and shower). However there were a fair few noticeable cobwebs around the room, including in the bedside lampshades. There was a wedding going on inside the hotel, but as the rooms are in a separate building, we didn’t have any issues with noise.
We paid for an evening meal in the restaurant, and luckily had booked a table as the restaurant was very busy. The

3 of us went to The Plough for Christmas Day. The Barn was so festive, it made us feel so Christmasy. The staff were extremely attentive and couldn’t do enough, even allowing us plenty of time between courses.
The food, as always ( we visit The Plough regularly) was a very very high standard.
We will definitely book again for next Christmas, that’s if they are not fully booked. We have been trying for 3 years to book The Plough for Christmas Day Lunch.
A massive thank you to all involved in making our day very special.

Had our team Christmas lunch here today. What a fabulous place. The Christmas meal was truly delicious and not too shy on the portions. Fantastic service. A warm and friendly atmosphere and service. Highly recommended. Thank you to all.

It’s a great place to eat, turkey sandwich and beef pie 🥧😋 absolutely delicious, the gravy stunning, chips were golden, crunchy, chunky tasty. My sandwich came with skinny fries and some creamy salad that I didn’t enjoy but the whole experience was with lots of flavor, romantic vintage English vibe, that was my favorite part 😉, staff kind and friendly, restrooms CLEAN & tidy! Gorgeous and beautiful village. I saw other peoples dishes, they looked fantastic. Oh!!! Mull wine 🍷 tasty, tasty, the best one. Prices are moderate.

I would like to say a massive thank you to all at The Plough Inn for making my daughters wedding such a perfect day. From our initial visit with Laurie last year and from our arrival on the wedding day last week and being greeted by Gabriella the day was wonderful. Our wedding meal was great and the service fantastic. All the guests had an amazing time celebrating this special day. Massive thanks to all the team at The Plough.

This place is amazing. we discovered it looking for a venue for a wedding. it just screamed us. the barn is amazing and the fact their is on site accommodation makes it even better. Both Laurie and Gabriella have been fantastic in helping us. and to top it all off the pub grub is amazing too!

Dinner for 6. We all wanted to choose all the starters, they sounded delicious! However once we actually calmed down and made our selections we were all delighted with our meals. We had Venison and the pork mains and enjoyed every mouthful. Friendly, efficient staff with pleasant banter helped to ensure we all had a good evening.
First time we've been here for ages, but it won't be the last.

Fish finger sandwich was amazing, sticky toffee pudding was even better! There was a wedding on but service was quick, all staff very friendly and super dog friendly. My boy got lots of fuss and had the best time! Very reasonably priced, will definitely be back.
