Every child who is 3 or 4 years old or families that are entitled to 2 year old funding are entitled to a free 15 hours each week (paid for by the government). The children in this school come from a variety of cultural religions and backgrounds. We aim to provide the highest quality of education possible for students of all abilities.
In doing so, we aim to positively encourage each child to achieve the best they can, develop friendships and social skills, enjoy being creative and imaginative, develop critical thinking skills and become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. To achieve this, we will provide a diverse education in a safe, supportive environment that promotes self-discipline and motivation.

Services
Flu is a serious disease caused by a virus and is easily spread. It can cause a temperature, sore throat, stuffy nose, dry cough, aching muscles and extreme tiredness - and no one wants to see their child so poorly. The best defence against the virus for 2 & 3 year olds is the free nasal spray - available from your GP.
At Alexandra nursery school every child is welcomed and valued. Within our school we have an Early Years SEND High Needs Base. The places for this are allocated by the Early Years SEND High Needs Base panel which consists of a group of SEND professionals within the Local Authority.
Children can be referred for a place in the High Needs Base by a professional who works with them and their family such as a health visitor, social worker, GP, speech therapist or nursery practitioner. We currently offer 6 morning (9-12 am ) or 6 afternoon (1-4 pm) places for children aged 2-4years.

We would advise that we are in consultation with the Local Authority and central Government on our plans to ensure that children are invited back at the right time and when we can offer you, as parents and carers, the reassurances you will need that your child will be as safe as possible.
Please understand that all Nurseries are unique in that each has a different type of building, sizes of classrooms, layouts and availability of staff due to illness or shielding so each individual Nursery will need to think carefully about their approach which means that this may be different in different schools.
