Mucky Munchkins Childcare Ltd is privately owned and run by Jennifer Francis and Clare Kennedy. Prior to becoming Childminders, we both worked together for over 12 years in the legal profession. We decided during our second pregnancies it was time for a change in career! During 2013, whilst working full time, heavily pregnant and looking after our first-born children, we decided to train as Childminders.
We didn't start working as a Childminders straight away as we had just had our second babies. We had our first OFSTED grading after 8 weeks of opening when we were awarded with a GOOD in all areas. The Ofsted Inspector was very impressed with what we had achieved in the short space we had been open and could see a bright future for Mucky Munchkins Childcare!

Services
We understand that leaving your child at nursery can be a very difficult process (as we have experienced with being mothers ourselves) but by working in partnership with parents we can make it easier. We encourage parents and children to visit the nursery before starting with us, enabling children to gain awareness of the setting, routines within nursery and familiarise themselves with other children and our staff.
At Mucky Munchkins Childcare Ltd we take our responsibility as an employer seriously. We are proud to create an exciting working environment that not only provides excellent outcomes for the children we care for but also our staff. We serve a delicious and nutritious menu. Our wholesome and nourishing menus are specially designed to give your little one the very best start in life. We ensure we include seasonal vegetables and fruit into our menus. We aim to make this possible by supplying our children with home cooked, nutritional food, bursting with fresh fruit and vegetables and all the essential ingredients necessary for healthy physical and mental development.
Parents can check whether they are eligible for a range of government childcare offers, including 30 hours, via Childcare Choices at: www.childcarechoices.gov.uk or the childcare calculator at: www.gov.uk/childcare-calculator. Those who could be eligible for 30 hours and/or Tax Free Childcare will be directed to the digital childcare service to apply.
At Mucky Munchkins Childcare Ltd we accept all forms of childcare vouchers. Our nursery is registered with a variety of Childcare Voucher Providers such as Fideliti, Sodexo, Edenred, ComputerShare, Busy Bees etc. We are registered with many more, however, if we are not registered with your specific childcare voucher company, it is extremely easy to do so, please just let us know your childcare voucher provider upon registration.

Wouldn't send my baby anywhere else moved out of westhoughton and still send my baby here because nowhere else suits very flexible very friendly and very caring 100% confident in leaving my child here as I know he will be cared for very well. He always comes home happy and he gets excited when he attends in a morning

Choosing a nursery can be a daunting experience with so many different choices and worries! We looked at several nurseries around the bolton area and initially had our oldest listed at the nursery where we work. When we did our final visit there we didn't feel comfortable and frantically looked around for another nursery. One us of us almost left… work instead! That's when we found mucky munchkins! As soon as we walked in we knew it was the place we wanted our little boy to attend. The immediate warmth, kindness and happiness we felt was reassuring and made a stressful situation much calmer

My daughter has been attending Mucky Munchkins for nearly two years now and in that time I have watched her flourish into a strong, confident and social little girl.
Mucky Munchkins offer a wide range of activities and learning opportunities, utilising both inside and outdoor space.
The staff are very friendly and communication between staff and… parent works really well, both via the Famly app and face to face. Parents are are kept up to date and receive daily photographs and updates of their children's activities (there is absolutely nothing better than seeing a photograph of my daughter

Since Toby started nursery in September we have been so pleased with all aspects of Mucky Munchkins. There was lots of contact and photos when Toby was settling in which helped me as I was nervous at the start!
The staff are amazing, always approachable and keep us updated on Toby’s days and progress with photos, observations and quick chats at pick up time despite the challenges of covid. The app is great.
The activities and learning they do is great but most importantly Toby is very happy there. Would recommend to any parent.

After working at mucky munchkins childcare for two years I knew it was the perfect place for my little boy but as all parent are when sending there children to nursery for the first time I was anxious for both… me and him but it’s the best thing I have ever done. Grayson loves it at nursery and gets so much out off his time there his speech has come on rapidly since starting and he has formed clear attachments with all staff and children. I’m so grateful for everything mucky munchkins does for us, I couldn’t picture us anywhere else thank you for everything 💜

Our little girl started Mucky Munchkins in September 2019 when she was almost 2 years old. We were hesitant to start with as she hadn’t been without us for long periods of time. However the staff put us completely at ease and she settled in really quickly. She is now 3 years old and the progress that she has made since attending nursery is just… phenomenal. She is much more confident and her language skills have seen a huge improvement. All the staff are loving, supportive and nurture our little girl in all the ways possible. The communication we receive regarding our daughter is exceptional

Absolutely amazing nursery, when Freddy was five months old me and my husband started looking for nursery's we visited so many and was disappointed. We then come across mucky munchkins and I was so happy happy the staff were very welcoming and friendly the rooms were clean. I was happy to place my sons care in their hands. He is now 3 years old… and still attends, Freddy has come on so much the staff are supportive of his needs, caring and prompt his independence. I would not trust anyone else!

Our daughter joined January 2020 and she just settled in so quickly thanks to the Tiny Stars staff. Unfortunately Covid then came but once Serena could go back in again, the staff were amazing with helping her settling in again and Serena always leaves nursery so happy at the end of the day. We can see how much she is developing and it’s definitely… down to nursery. The Famly app which is used is great as it details everything from meals, naps and the photo observations are the highlight of my day :-) Also, the outdoor space for the kids is wonderful for them to play in. After having my daughter I had my heart set on a childminder as I felt it was more personal. Due to covid etc I decided to look at nursery’s. I looked at various and none compared to Mucky Munchkins, not even close. The staff are just so lovely and the communication via the Famly app is incredible. I know exactly what my daughter is up to, down to… the very last detail of what she’s eaten. It is so reassuring as it’s the hardest thing leaving your child so them daily updates are just fantastic The setting is also beautiful 🍃

Fantastic Nursery!! I feel I have got to know all the staff very well, they are incredible, they truly care for my daughter. 🥰 The communication with both staff and management is second to none 👍🏻 more importantly, my daughter absolutely loves going and all the activities they offer, especially the outdoor area. I am so happy that my Daughter got her place here, I looked around at many nurseries but mucky munchkins stood out to me. My Daughter loves the outdoors and here offers so much beautiful space to play and be free. I cannot Thank the staff enough for all their help and support settling my little girl in, I feel like she's been coming forever but its only been a few months. I would certainly recommend this nursery, I honestly could not have chosen a better place. We love it here 💜

Excellent friendly staff, nice clean nursery and a good set up plenty of activities to do for the children. Very professional will accommodate for food allergies on trouble. Great place for your children to learn numbers, letters, different skills, social skills and to get them into a good routine the key building blocks to learn ready to take on primary school in the future. Fantastic place for the children keep up the good work.
