Channelkirk Primary School
Channelkirk is a small, happy and thriving primary school nestled in the Lauderdale hills in the village of Oxton near Lauder. At Channelkirk we are continually striving to provide stimulating, engaging and fun learning experiences where all our pupils can reach their full potential. We do this through a caring, supportive and challenging environment.

We have high expectations and encourage our learners to do the best they can. Everyone in Channelkirk Primary School is treated with respect and kindness and we are working hard to keep our parents and community involved in our learning. Congratulations to staff teams in the Earlston Cluster of Children and Young People's Services on winning Achieving Results at Scale category at QI Awards.
Services
Channelkirk Primary School takes it's name from the Parish of Channelkirk. Schools have existed locally for many years. In 1855 a new school was built on the current site, which consisted of one room. In 1874, another room was added. By the 1970's, the school was struggling for space and two portacabins were brought here.
Channelkirk Primary School provides hot meals cooked on the premises. Balanced and nutritional meals are provided, including a vegetarion option at a cost of 2.40. Children in Primary 1,2, 3 and 4 are eligible for Free School Meals. These are funded centrally. All meals are bookable in advance. Scottish Borders Council use an online system called ParentPay to process orders and payments.
