Channelkirk Primary School takes it's name from the Parish of Channelkirk. Schools have existed locally for many years. In 1855 a new school was built on the current site, which consisted of one room. In 1874, another room was added. By the 1970's, the school was struggling for space and two portacabins were brought here.
Channelkirk Primary School provides hot meals cooked on the premises. Balanced and nutritional meals are provided, including a vegetarion option at a cost of 2.40. Children in Primary 1,2, 3 and 4 are eligible for Free School Meals. These are funded centrally. All meals are bookable in advance. Scottish Borders Council use an online system called ParentPay to process orders and payments.
