We use our traditional wood fired pizza to provide a modern take on traditional Italian cuisine, using local suppliers and produce. We can only take bookings of up to 6 people from different households or groups made up of 2 households over this number. Your stay may be limited to a maximum of two hours, you will be made aware of this when booking your table.

Takeaway service will continue during our restaurant hours; we will be doing orders on the day instead of our pre order service. Since then we have grown considerably, improving our use of local suppliers and produce, keeping our menu fresh and up to date while not forgetting those with a more traditional taste.
Although we are normally closed during Sunday daytime, we would be happy to open for a private party such as a Christening or other celebration. Our excellent children's facilities mean The Wild Olive is the ideal location for family celebrations and children's parties. We have a children's playroom and the village play park can be accessed directly from our terrace.
The Wild Olive is situated in the centre of the Lake District village of Gosforth, at the foot of the Wasdale valley - approximately ten minutes drive from both Wasdale and Eskdale, providing an excellent base for those wanting to enjoy the fells. We reserve the parking immediately outside the restaurant for those with particular mobility needs but the large village car park is just around the corner and offers free parking.
