The outside area is used as an extension of the inside and many activities are used outside such as the dressing up, role play and small world. The children have loose parts construction, a sand pit (within a beach hut), a vegetable patch and we have nursey rabbits and guinea pigs for the children to help look after.

The Wooden Horse is a firmly established, purpose built nursery offering private and funded places for all children from Birth - 8 years of age. Owned and managed by a qualified teacher with over twenty years experience in Early Years Education. We provide a safe, stimulating, caring environment for your child.
Our babies participate in many activities as we cater for a variety of development levels. Activities are set out to encourage a child's interest, through play your child will be introduced to colours, shapes, sorting, counting and develop their gross motor skills. All children participate in song and story time as well as sensory activities.
Activities are set out to encourage a child's interest and all equipment is stored at the child's level so they can add toys to extend their play. Through play your child will be introduced to colours, shapes, sorting, counting and hand control. Throughout the day staff supervise and interact with the children; promoting their learning and development whilst encouraging their independence and individual thoughts, ideas and opinions.
Our preschool group is run by fully qualified, experienced staff. The children learn independence and life-skills through using everyday tools often scaled down for little hands and statures. Real-life skills such as sweeping, pouring, setting a table, or dressing help children develop large motor skills, balance, hand-eye coordination, problem solving, independence, confidence, and much more.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is how the Government and Early Years Professionals describe the time in your child's life between birth and the age of five. This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes.

My daughter absolutely loves this nursery, she has only been going 2 weeks upto now but she runs in on a morning so excited, that excited she forgets to say bye 🤣 .. I don't think I could have placed my daughter in better care than here, everyone is so lovely and welcoming. So so glad I picked Woodren Horse Nursery for Indie x

The staff are so professional and friendly . Both my girls go to wooden horse and both girls have totally different needs which this nursery had brought the best out of them ! One needed to be encouraged too leave me and actually start to have fun learning with new friends in preparation for a school ; the other can’t speak and needs much more care… than the average child of her age ! Again this nursery goes above and beyond to meet her individual needs ! I would recommend “the wooden horse “ too any parent that wants the best possible opportunity to flourish and be preordered

This is a fantastic nursery. My son has been attending since he was one year old. He adored the lovely, caring and patient staff who made his time at nursery so much fun. All the nursery support helped him to grow into a loving, friendly and confident little boy. I couldn't have chosen a better nursery. Thank you all

A truly wonderful nursery! ⭐ After sending my oldest daugter here where she had 3 wonderful and memorable years it was a no brainer to then also send my youngest here! She is currently coming on leaps and bounds all due to the wonderful staff and the great surroundings the nursery provides for the children!

What a fantastic nursary, the staff are very knowledgable and go above and beyond to help.
have had 2 daughters with additional needs who have attended the nursary one whome still their who gets 1 to 1 support and has helped both girls come on amensily my other daughter is now in a mainstream school and without the help and support of the nursary… I wouldnt have thought this was possible...
brilliant support and encouragement for potty training, and the children always have such lovily snacks and meals
the outdoor area is spacious and also some lovily animals which the children adore !!

Would highly recommend! Super friendly, warm and supportive staff. Senco is fabulous, my autistic son has come on leaps and bounds since starting two years ago. So much learning and fun not only inside but outdoors too. Education really made so fun for the children with great opportunities given to all children every day to develop all their skills.

Fabulous staff, caring & kind, the children are always up to something exciting!!! I get a little jealous tbh...I want to go to wooden horse haha!!
Also VERY accommodating with last minute changes to plans....management are spot on and special educational needs part is just tip top!!! My son has come on immensely since starting here!!!
All in all, an absolutely awesome nursery!!! ❤️💙❤️
