Established in 2000 Green Hedges has been providing high quality care and education for children from birth to five years in Scarborough. Set in a large Victorian semi detached building set in a sunny position on South Cliff. Our base rooms are bright and spacious. Our outdoor facilities include covered play areas, log cabin, mud kitchens and a tree to climb.
Our own vision reflects that of the National Children's Bureau, which states "Our vision is a world where children and young people are safe, secure and supported." We aim to foster happy, healthy, self -confident, independent children and keep children and families at the heart of all we do. We believe that every child's rights, safety and well- being are of paramount importance.
Quality childcare is dependent on quality staff and all our staff hold relevant childcare qualifications and are selected for their knowledge, experience and enthusiasim they can bring to nursery. We pride ourselves on having staff who are totally committed to continuity of care for children with many staff loyally working at Green Hedges for over 10 years.
At Green Hedges Day Nursery we are committed to the inclusion of all children. All children have the right to be cared for and educated to develop to their full potential alongside each other through positive experiences, to enable them to share opportunities and experiences and develop and learn from each other.
Babies are warmly welcomed by key staff and comfortably cared for in our purpose built baby room. New sensory experiences are offered according to their individual needs. Our babies love to explore and investigate our selection of treasure baskets to encourage handling and explore the contents through their senses.
