Please note that although our cottage provides ground floor accommodation it has certain restrictions on what it can offer limited mobility guests. Please see our access statement for full details. We believe our Patterdale holiday cottage provides the ideal holiday accommodation whatever you want from your Lake District holiday.

Ideal as a base for fell walkers, mountain bikers, or anyone looking simply to relax, unwind and enjoy the breath taking views. The bungalow is in a superb location in Patterdale, with panoramic views of Place Fell from the living room window. We are just down the road from Ullswater, England's most beautiful lake.
Services
This detached bungalow is next to our house in Patterdale, and offers smart self catering accommodation for 3 people in a superb Lake District location close to Ullswater and Helvellyn. We hope the cottage will provide you with a comfortable and well equipped base from which to enjoy the many great things to do in the Local Area as well as the perfect place to rest and relax.
The How. Cosy dog friendly accommodation with a rug in front of the woodburner (don't get too close!). A small patio garden with plenty of smells and views over the road and beck to the fells and of course. There are loads of walks to suit all leg sizes and energy levels, from quick "time for quick trip" walks along the beck to all day adventures up Helvellyn and the other fells.
There are plenty of things to entertain children of all ages around Patterdale and the Lake District. As well as the Local Walks and Activities on the Lake, there are some great activity and play centres nearby. Just 10 minutes walk from The How in Patterdale, Crookabeck Farm offers half and full day "Farm Experiences" where you can get hands-on with their flocks of Herdwick Sheep, Angora Goats, and Chickens.
The Lake District is a haven for wildlife and the area around The How and Patterdale and Ullswater is no exception. You'll see a huge variety from the myriad of birds who enjoy the bird feeders in the garden (and the odd squirrel!) to the sheep and other mammals you'll encounter out on the fells. All in their natural habitat and all enjoying the scenery as much as you are!
As well as a beautiful place for walking and relaxing, Ullswater offers a host of activities for anyone looking to make the most of life on the Lake itself. Glenridding is also home to the Glenridding Sailing Centre, which offers boats and Kayaks for hire, as well as excellent sailing tuition. Pete and Steve who run the centre are just about the friendliest and most helpful people you could meet which helps as well!

Highly recommended, home from home with nothing left to your imagination. Never once thought, blast, there is not one of those. And most of all, clean, warm, and super land lords who just want you to be very happy and another point no sign of other dogs ever being there, thats brilliant house keeping on the part of the owners
Will definitely go back

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful village. Lovely welcome package to start you off and the nicest & cleanest bed/ bedding/towelling I've experienced in the UK. Can't wait to rebook.
