Saddleback Barn is a converted barn providing luxury accommodation over two floors with modern amenities whilst still retaining many character features. It is situated in a superb position with spectacular panoramic views over Blencathra and the surrounding fells. Sleeping up to seven people, in three en-suite bedrooms, the cottage is perfect for larger families or groups of families or friends.
A range of DVDs, books, indoor and outdoor games are available in the laundry room for guests to use. The drive crosses two fields, and then rises past an old ruin up to the top of the hill where you will find the property. Travelling West on the A66 from the M6 Motorway (Junction 40), continue towards Keswick passing the turnoff to Troutbeck (A5091).

Stunning and idyllic location. Close to everything that the northern and central lakes has to offer. Very safe and secure and well looked after. We all loved it so much we have booked to go back next year. Well done Fiona and Mark.

Loved this place for 40+ years. Nowhere like it. Christine and Gordon, then Jill and Steve and now Fiona and Mark all excellent hosts. Wonderful, clean and comfortable cottages in a superb location.

I'm enjoying my stay here so far. The holiday houses are well kept, and the views are amazing. The beds are also very nice, and the chairs are comfy. Overall I'd say that if you are going to the Lake District, I would highly reccomend staying here as it is a very nice place to stay, and has very good views.

Really comfortable cottage and a very warm welcome. Incredibly well equipped and stunning scenery. Easy to get to Keswick and Penrith.
Huge and very comfortable bed - so I slept like a log - an absolute must for me!!
Highly recommend. A real sense of peace here.

Excellent place to stay if you like peace and quiet and great views, dog friendly with a large field for them to run around in, really nice interiors that completely relax you, however if you don't like your car getting dusty then it is a fairly long dusty drive upto the Cottages for me the place more than makes up for it.
One small complaint is that my mattress could have done with replacing, I felt like I was going to roll out in the middle of the night apart from that my room was lovely.
Hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did.

We didn't choose this holiday apartment but a combination of things found us here. We're pleased they did. The owners are very welcoming, the apartment is good and the views are awesome. Just drive slowly on the dirt track to avoid tyre problems.

Probably the best place we stayed in the Lake District. Enough space inside, well organized, lots and lots of space outside, great views. Many places of interest are within a 20-30min drive. The cottages offer good resting place after a long hike ready for the next day!
