Positive reinforcement is used in preference to negative feedback. Young children learn by example, we teach our children respect and consideration for others by role modelling behaviours. We organise our layout to ensure that the children are not in one room all day, but have the same freedom of choice as they would have at home; adopting a Montessori approach.
We believe it is important for children to relax as well as learn, so we create opportunities for them to do this during the day. Where do I start? We have had two daughters attend Lake House and I can honestly say it's been like a home away from home. The thought of leaving your child all day can be heart wrenching but it's made better at the thought of them being happy while you're at work, which is due to all the staff at Lake House.

Services
We have a secure outdoor play area with plenty of play, numeracy and literary equipment and a good covered area with tables and benches. This provides scope for imaginative play and the development of physical skills, both of which are fun and promote self-confidence. The children participate in gardening and grow herbs and flowers, which encourages their curiosity of the natural world around them.
All children have the right to be valued. They are curious, inquisitive, adventurous and resilient with their own opinions, thoughts and ideas about their world. At Lake House Day Nursery we believe the children learn most effectively through respectful relationships and interactions in a happy, loving, and stimulating environment.
We prefer children to settle in gradually, over a period of days or weeks, with up to 5 settling visits included in the registration fee. We gradually introduce the child into our setting so that by the end of the settling in sessions the child is happy and settled. The time to settle a child varies from one family to another, as each child's needs vary.

Great for my work experience in yr10. Lovely staff and allowed me to learn more about working with young children and be interdependent by the end of the week last year I didn’t want to leave. Thank you to all staff who made me feel welcome as I feel this experience has really helped me in my aspirations to be an pediatricean
