Becket Hall Day Nursery is a 62 place setting located in the heart of Bristol's bustling business district just off Bristol Bridge. At Becket Hall we believe that our nursery is unique, offering an Ofsted registered setting for children aged from 8 weeks to 5 years of age which is secluded, stimulating and safe.
We provide a caring, relaxed, homely environment for both children and parents and are open 51 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday, 7.30am until 6.00pm (closed bank holidays). At Becket Hall we have two separate listed buildings on the same site, one building houses our baby unit and the other is where our preschool can be found.

Services
At Becket Hall we pride ourselves on our staff retention, Our staff are experienced, friendly, knowledgeable and above all very caring. All our staff hold an up to date first aid and food safety certificate, with a minimum of 75% of our staff holding at least a level 3 qualification in childcare and education.
As a setting we undertake a working agreement to ensure high aspirations for our children, as well as our aspirations for ourselves as Practitioners. We take influences from new pedagogies such as the Curiosity Approach bringing back awe and wonder into childhood, as well as taking influences from established pedagogies such as Vygotsky's scaffolding theory where our staff explain and model behaviours for learning.
Our main hall (baby unit) comprises of 3 rooms, Ladybirds, caterpillars and Grasshoppers, a sensory area, sleep room, children's toilets, a kitchen and the nursery office. The baby unit can accommodate up to 30 children aged 8 weeks to 30 months of age with 10 members of staff who maintain a 1:3 ratio for under 2's and a 1:4 ratio for over 2's.
Our preschool building can be found on street level and is spread over 3 floors to accommodate up to 32 children each day. The building comprises of a ground floor kitchen, messy/meal time space and a designated area for children's cookery.
Two further classrooms for 2 to 3 year old's can be found on the first floor along with children's toilets, a home corner, construction area, numeracy and literacy area's as well as a sleep room, the same can be found on the 2nd floor along with a discovery area and a raised book corner.We have 6 members of staff in this building who maintain a ratio of 1:4 for 2 to 3 year old's and a ratio of 1:8 for 3 to 5 year old's.

At Becket Hall we strongly value our parent partnerships, and recognise the importance of the relationship between a child and their family, with their key worker at nursery. For that reason when joining our setting we try to make the transition from home to nursery as smooth as possible, by creating a sense of belonging so children are able to see our nursery as an extension of their home.
