At the Green Door Nursery we work in accordance with best practice to provide an environment in which children feel secure and loved, enjoying all the wonderful things childhood brings; fun, laughter, learning, caring about others and making friends. To help children be confident and independent giving them the best start possible in school and above all take pride in their achievements and enjoy learning.
Services
Each child has their own individual care plan drawn up at the induction visit before your child starts and settling in sessions are arranged. Children will often cry when hungry, tired, or unwell. We would let you know if your child was crying inconsolably. Children often behave differently when away from home so this might not be needed at the nursery.
When setting up in 2014, The Outdoors Project Bristol Director, Rowan Hibbett, decided to run some activities in his nearest childhood park in St Andrew's. Aside from running regular holiday clubs and Birthday parties there, The Outdoors Project has also run Parent and Child sessions, workshops and Forest Schools for local Schools and Nurseries.
Food is freshly prepared and delivered each morning by specialist caterers - Early Years Catering - earlyyearscatering.co.uk. The nursery has a no sugar policy and fruit is offered as dessert. We provide organic milk. Special diets are catered for. Children eat together in small groups with Educators and good eating habits are encouraged.
At The Green Door Nursery we take great care to treat each individual as a person in their own right, with equal rights and responsibilities to any other individual, whether they are an adult or a child. We are committed to providing equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice for all children and families according to their individual needs.
Keypersons have responsibility for ensuring specific individual care needs are met and known to all carers within the Keyteam. Keypersons are tasked with record keeping, targeting learning and monitoring progress. Managers are responsible for allocating Keypersons and informing parents. Whilst the appointed Keyperson meets key needs for children they are not the main or sole carer.

My daughter started out at this nursery aged just 7 months. The staff are very friendly and she was really well looked after throughout her time there. It's a smaller nursery than others in this part of the city, which meant the kids had plenty of opportunity to interact across age groups and play with each other. My daughter was very happy there and I would recommend!
