Services
We value and respect the trust placed in us by our customers and treat each child, parent and carer as an individual. Our Director is fully qualified and was a single working parent as her children were growing up, so fully appreciates the challenges facing parents in making childcare choices and the importance of knowing your children are safe and well cared for when you're not able to be with them.
Mary-Jane founded Kingsmeadows Nursery in 2000 having noticed a gap in the market as a Mum of two young children. Mary-Jane has completed her SVQ3, PDA Level 8 and Post-Graduate Diploma in Childhood Practice. She has also graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and completed Doctoral training as a Chartered Psychologist in 2017.
Our Baby Room(3 - 18 months) and Caterpillar Room(18 months - 2 years) offer a gentle, warm and inviting environment for our youngest children. It is quite unusual for a nursery to have two separate rooms for the under 2's age group and it is one aspect of our provision we are particularly proud of.
We have two main playrooms for the 3 - 5 year olds, the Rainbow Room and Butterfly Room, where we are engaging with the early years section of the Curriculum for Excellence. The Curriculum for Excellence supports young people from the ages of 3 up to 18 years and establishes clear values, purposes and principles for education in Scotland.
We offer Breakfast Club, After School Club and Holiday Club for children of all primary school ages. Our focus is on the children relaxing and enjoying themselves, choosing from a range of activities in a supportive and caring environment. We believe that everything and everybody a child comes into contact with is an educator for them and as such we do not offer formal learning in any of our out of school clubs.
