Colinton Private Nursery is a children's day nursery based in Edinburgh that has been operating since 1997, and offers 59 places. Colinton Nurseries Limited has the principal objective of providing meaningful pre-school education and child care within a safe, friendly and caring nursery environment.
The important thing to recognise with your child's education is that the sooner it can begin - the better. Every parent wants to give their child the best possible start in life. Children attending primary school after having the benefit of a nursery education have a head start on those who do not.

Services
We have a dedicated staff who use their individual talents to direct the childrens' energy into socially, physically, and intellectually stimulating channels. Our staff is carefully chosen to provide the highest level of care and education through a balance of qualifications and experience.
Staff members participate in regular in-house meetings and attend external courses to ensure that their skills and knowledge are developed and kept up-to-date.Staff are encouraged and provided with the opportunities to continue their professional development through various training programmes. Non-qualified staff are encouraged and assisted to become fully qualified.

Our approach to the care and development of your child is to give reassurance where needed, and to encourage when beneficial. The curriculum is the totality of all that is planned for children throughout their education. The two curriculum frameworks which guide our curriculum approach are Pre-birth to 3 years and A Curriculum for Excellence.
At Colinton Private Nursery we use online learning journals to record the development of our children. I would just like to say a HUGE thank-you for being so great at taking care of Katilin at nursery. She has had such a wonderful time. Her paintings on the wall or just driving past will remind us of happy times.

I have two children attending this nursery, the eldest for over 3 years and I can’t speak highly enough of the nursery and staff who are so attentive and adore each and every one of the children providing the right balance of care, attention and education. My children have thrived here and come home very happy each day. Would highly recommend this nursery.

My daughter has attended this nursery after a bad experience at two others. The staff are absolutely fantastic and the nursery manager is truly supportive and understanding. I am so happy we found Colinton private nursery and I feel super safe to send my daughter here, I am always told exactly what she’s been doing, how she’s done with her food and specific play or activities she’s done throughout the day. She loves it and we couldn’t be happier! We hope covid allows her to return soon as she misses her teachers and friends.

My children currently attend this nursery and we're thrilled with the care and support the staff provide. The nursery has a relaxed atmosphere and my children have thrived at Colinton Private Nursery (CPN). My oldest was at a different nursery before we moved to Colinton and, although his former nursery excelled in the Care Inspectorate Reports, we found he much preferred CPN in practice. Contrary to his former nursery, he slept and ate well at CPN and was much happier.
