Friedrich Froebel a pioneering ninetieth-century educator created a garden allowing time and space for children to play and explore in contact with nature. With over 20 years experience in the childcare sector I have dedicated most of my adult life to providing the best educational setting for children to start their journey in life. I am coming up to 10 years at Arbor Green Nursery and originally joined to help out at lunchtime but loved it so much I studied for my SVQ Level 3 in Childcare.
At Arbor Green Nursery we wish to support children to learn about sustainable practices and foster respect and care for the living and non-living environment. Children are able to develop positive attitudes and values about sustainable practices by exploring solutions to environmental issues, learning about the world around them and how to protect it.
Arbor Green Nursery believes in educating children outdoors, learning in nature not just about nature thus allowing opportunities for open-ended exploration, problem-solving and making connections. As children learn from each other we do not segregate children by age with children from all ages intermixed.
Forest School is a child-centred inspirational learning process, that offers opportunities for holistic growth through regular sessions. It is a long-term program that supports play, exploration and supported risk-taking. It develops confidence and self-esteem through learner inspired, hands-on experiences in a natural setting.
At Arbor Green, it's all about the layers for our outdoor nursery! Layering means that clothes can be put on and taken off when necessary, to keep a comfortable temperature. If children have too many thick or bulky layers, it restricts their movement. If a child is wearing a bulky coat, for example, they will be too hot with it on, or too cold with it off.

This place is amazing! My 2 year has attended here. The staff are so attentive with him and really go above and beyond. Food menu is great for fussy toddlers like mine and healthy! Staff interaction with parents and kids really lovely and i feel so good about leaving my guy there. He is happy when i pick him up and doesnt want to leave!
