History plays a vital role in our Inspire curriculum at The Beacon and we value the wealth of history that surrounds our school and the local area. The aims of history within our Inspire curriculum is to the develop the children's curiosity about life in the past. This is achieved by teaching the children how to think like a historian.
Here you will be able to read and find out about all of the different things that we get up to in Year 6. It is very important that pupils in Year 6 engage daily with reading and have their book bag in school every day. Children should read at least 5 nights out of 7 and make sure they complete an accelerated reader quiz after they finish a book.
The Year 4T class teacher is Miss Trouton with Miss Quigg teaching English, Miss Charters teaching RE and Mrs Shepherd. Homework is given out on Fridays and is due in on the following Tuesday. Homework will include activities to secure learning from the week and will be based around English and maths, as well as short multiple-choice quizzes based on their knowledge organiser.
We are excited to welcome you back for a new school year and look forward to all the fun, interesting things we have planned throughout the year.
