We believe that our school is warm, welcoming and inclusive, where children are supported and encouraged to enjoy learning and to develop their full potential. We welcome visits to the school, so that you can see us in action and see for yourself why St John's is a special place to be. We would like to wish all of our pupils and families a very happy summer holidays.
A big well done for all of the hard work that has taken place this year. We wish our Y6 leavers the very best as they make the move to their Secondary schools in September.

Our school is a warm, welcoming and inclusive one where children are supported and encouraged to enjoy learning and to develop their full potential. We are a larger than average Catholic Primary School which works closely with our Parish to support the children in their preparations for the Sacraments.
We were delighted that Ofsted noted that we have a close knit community. Our school is at the very heart of that community and parents, as well as our pupils, feel valued, welcome and listened to. We are also currently working towards The Inclusion Award and Dyslexia Friendly School Award.
Here at St. John's we firmly believe in providing a broad, balanced and rich curriculum for all our pupils, as well as enabling them to experience as many activities and develop as many skills as possible.

St John's Ofsted report, RE Report and School Performance Table are all listed on our Inspection Reports page here. The new National curriculum was assessed in 2016 for the first time. New tests with higher expectations were taken by children at the end of year 2 and year 6. It is no longer possible to compare school results to previous year's results as children no longer receive a numbered level.
The Government is determined to secure a significant and lasting legacy from the very successful 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games that were held in London. In order to achieve this and improve the provision of PE and sport in primary schools, additional funding has been made available each year since and has continued into 2020/21.
Assessment is used to provide information on pupils' progress and attainment and it is a means by which parents can obtain valuable information about how their child, and the school, is performing. Assessment not only keeps parents informed, but also enables governors to make judgements about the school's effectiveness and helps inform Ofsted's inspections of the school.
