Southfields Primary School
History teaching at Southfields equips children from the very start of their educational experience to explore chronology and use the vocabulary needed to interpret the past. Children are supported to frame their historical understanding as part of enquiries which combine the use of a wide range of skills whilst addressing key subject knowledge.

Our history is just that, ours, and is centred on our locality, our community and our children's historical needs that will support them to find their identity in the world based on their cultural, local, national and global history. The curriculum is designed to fill our children with a curiosity for learning about the past.
Services
The admissions arrangements for children are controlled internally by the school, we have a part time nursery with 26 pupil spaces in a morning session. The admission arrangements for Foundation Stage children and above are managed by Coventry City Education Authority. For more information on how to apply please visit www.coventry.gov.uk/admissions or contact the admissions office on tel:024 7697 5445 or email primary.admissions@coventry.gov.uk.
At Southfields we embrace the fact that every child is different and, therefore, the educational needs of every child are different - this is certainly the case for children with Special Educational Needs.

In terms of what we offer children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities, this is different for every child and it is important to emphasise that, as much as possible, this provision is designed by the relevant Southfields staff members working alongside the child, the child's family and, where necessary, outside agencies* (e.g. a Speech and Language Therapist or an Educational Psychologist).
Parent View asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of Southfields Primary School, from the quality of teaching, to dealing with bullying and poor behaviour. Ofsted use the information you provide when making decisions about which schools to inspect, and when. By sharing your views, you'll be helping our school to improve.
The Internet is a fantastic resource and offers so many opportunities to explore, create and collaborate. However, staying safe online is very important. So, to help you know how to stay safe and out of danger on the internet - either on your computer, tablet or smartphone, our parental guide will give you the 'know how' to help keep you and your children safe.
Southfields Primary School takes the wellbeing of the children and their parents extremely seriously. If a child or parent needs to share any matters of a safeguarding or wellbeing nature they can do so by emailing: pastoralsupport@southfields.coventry.sch.uk. At Southfields Primary we are proud of the support we are able to offer to families and the community.
