Sunny Days Nursery
Our parent led nursery and pre-school, established in 1982, offers a happy, healthy, stimulating environment that is safe and secure. Children start to learn about the world around them from the moment they are born. We provide a dedicated approach to support this development that is child-centered, encouraging each child to expand their own level of self confidence, creativity and individuality through our key person system.

Based on the St Day and Carharrack School site we maintain strong links with the school whilst remaining independent. We are open from 8am-6pm, 51 weeks a year. We will provide a dedicated approach that is child-centred, encouraging each child to expand their own level of self confidence, creativity and individuality, whilst feeling happy, relaxed and safe.
Services
We are a parent committee led Nursery and pre-school, a registered charity and members of the pre-school learning alliance. Our Pre-school opened in 1982 in the St Day Community Centre and moved to it's present setting at the St Day and Carharrack Community School in 1999. In 2006 we became a nursery offering care for 0-4's from 8am until 6pm 50 weeks a year, adding the sunbeam room to our pre-school room.
Children start to learn about the world around them from the moment they are born. At sunny Days we use the Early Years Foundation Framework (2012)(EYFS) to ensure that we support and extend children's development whilst keeping them secure and safe. We understand that children need to have time to play and explore their world, both inside and outside.
It is so lovely to see that we have some sunny weather lately and as you can all imagine this does mean that the children prefer outside play. We are making the use of all shaded areas but we do ask that on Sunny Days could your child have an application of sun cream before arrival and equally please do bring along their sun cream so that we are able to administer.
At Sunny Days we pride ourselves on offering the children healthy, nutritional and well portioned snacks and meals. With our training we have managed to appoint a staff member as a lead practitioner for the Healthy Eating programs, whose job it is to communicate with lead professionals and ensure that the setting remains on track with our menus and meal options.
These are like a scrap book online where you are able to view your child's progress and celebrate milestones together. This account is for you to see and you are able to share this with other members of your family. The staff will take photos of activities and create an observation on what they have achieved and you will be able to view this and comment/ like.
