Gooseberry Bush Day Nursery
We were registered for 22 children. Two years later, we expanded our space and were registered for 50 children. Our staff are Early Years Practitioners, Early Years Teachers, Qualified Nursery Nurses and other carers working towards their NVQ Level II and Level III in Childcare and Education - this is so we can ensure the highest quality of care possible!

Staff support children during their time at our setting by offering activities and games to play, books to read, and songs to sing. Staff also give daily feedback to parents and carers on what their child has been doing. Parents can view their child's progress on ClassDojo, an app used by our setting to keep parents up-to-date.
Services
We have various different classrooms within our setting, each of which is for a different age group or session type. Classrooms have a different staff to child ratios, and depending on the children's development, the room focuses on different areas of the EYFS. Throughout the nursery we use the same assessment system for all children.
Our priority is making sure all families are comfortable and happy with our choice of setting: before enrolling with us. We offer tours of the nursery for all families interested in having their child attend our setting. During your tour you can meet our staff, ask any curriculum questions you might have, discuss sessions and fees with a member of management and even see our large, grassy garden at the back of the nursery.
We are the Management Team and we are in charge of the day-to-day running of the Gooseberry Bush. We are all qualified DSLs (Designated Safeguarding Leads): if you have any concerns about a child, an adult, or if you have any concerns regarding radicalisation, you can contact us either by phone, email or in-person.
Hello, we are the SENDCo Team! We work closely with children to support them in any areas of the EYFS they may be behind in. The Focus Group is a small class led by the SENDCo Team. As our classes are dictated by the children in nursery during the day, we do not have a set register. However, will be running morning and afternoon sessions 3 days a week, and we aim to take 3-4 children to each session.
We have also started a parent's network group called 'Chatterbox' held on Thursday afternoons - 1pm to 2:30pm term-time only. Chatterbox gives parents the chance to socialise, chat and likewise share parenting strategies with one another. Consequently, this group allows parents to develop a social network for themselves and also allows them to support one another as their children become older.

Excellent nursery, my two year old loves it so much that he has a toddler meltdown when it's time to leave! The staff are lovely in rabbits and made the whole process of starting really easy and made me and his mum feel less nervous about being away from him for the first time. Love that they use class dojo aswell to participate and see updates. Thankyou to all gooseberry Bush staff!

The SENCO LAURA IS AMAZING. She is an absolute asset to the nursery. My child went to school fully prepared fully thanks to Laura . She well deserves to take credit for my child’s progression.
She listens , maintains confidentiality, actually genuinely cares about the children’s well being. Nothing is ever to much trouble for her . Any parent requiring SEN Support then I fully recommend Laura .

Highly recommended right from baby up to getting ready for starting school. My son has always been very well looked after, is always encouraged to grow and explore. Staff are engaging and easy to get along with.

A good, flexible daycare nursery. My son always enjoys himself and comes home telling us all about his day.
Only complaint is their billing leaves a bit to be desired as, on several occasions, we where being charged for another child with a similar name and had to sort this out.
