Perfectly nice hotel on quiet street near Haymarket. It was noticeably cheaper than others and certainly as nice as more expensive hotels I have stayed in. So 5 stars for value, 4 for the place

This was a last minute booking as couldn't face travelling home after night out. Cannot complain. The room was massive with two large single comfy beds. Bathroom was small but ideal. Would definitely come back if needed a hotel for the night.

Very convenient place to stay, 2 minute walk to Haymarket Train station and tram/bus stops. Our room was quite small and had to step over the bed to get to the curtains but was spotlessly clean. Beds were so comfortable. Heating and water was red hot and had plenty for both to shower. Staff were very helpful and friendly, recommended places to eat. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment. Would definitely stay again

Our room was not featured on the official website. It was tiny, the sink never drained , the shower took forever to drain, bed moved when u sat on it, remote control for TV was filthy, lamp above bed absolutely thick with dust. Very disappointing and after looking forward to the city break it was a real disappointment .
Locators the only thing good. Room 40 pure awful

I booked my stay at Piries through Booking and honestly for what we paid I was expecting something better.
There were spider webs around the room, the shower tray was damaged, we found water in the boiler (probably from the previous guests) and there was no toilet brush.
I have to say that the room was worm and the bed really comfortable, but it wasn’t really up to our expectations.
On the other hand, a really good point is the member of staff which welcomed us and that we met almost every night, he has been really nice and helpful, unfortunately I don’t remember his name but I know he lived

Stayed here last night and was really disappointed with the room it’s was nothing like the pic on booking.com it’s wasn’t very clean the paint work was yellow chipped to bits and not very nice very dated tv and the dust on the radiator was a disgrace not to mention the view out of the window it was like a forest ivy growing up the windows .when we got back home last night the room was freezing bearing in mind there was snow high winds. I rang reception and told them there was no heating the young lad advised to turn it up but I explained we had already turned the thermostat to 5 and it still

3 star hotel it isn't. Room was clean but basic . Breakfast was a let down , a choice between a bacon or sausage roll ,that wouldn't set you up for a day off sight- seeing. It's an old Victorian building so no lift if you have mobility issue this would be an issue . We where on top floor I struggled with the stairs.

We are lucky. We have got a family room at the top floor. Cosy and warm with view to the old city. It is not perfect but there is all we need and enough light and space for three of us .

(I booked my stay via Booking.com, and this review is also over there) First off, the staff. The staff here are absolutely fantastic, some of the most kind and helpful people I've ever met while staying somewhere. Thankfully there were no problems, but if there were then it's great to know that there are staff available 24/7.
The room we stayed in was a family suite, it was huge, and most importantly comfortable. It was basically a full apartment. It had a nice shower room, living/dining area and a master bedroom. The living room had 2 sofa beds in so there was space for 6 people really, so for

Very convenient location. Nice building. Helpful staff. The toilet struggled with flushing loo roll and the sink in the bathroom was pretty tiny, but otherwise would happily recommend.

I call this the "you get what you pay for hotel". My experience was pretty good and would stay again. I didn't have any real issues. We stayed on a Saturday night for£80. Which was very good compared to the competition.

Checked in was straight forward and the room was massive (attached picture). Check out was fairly painless too.

The bed was nice and comfy and the room was clean.

The downsides were nothing severe. The toilet was pretty small for the size of room, and there was some sort of issue on the top left part of the ceiling. The room we were in was facing back yard which

Where do i start? at the finish of our expensive 12 day holiday in Scotland we were put in this establishment. In almost all respects a disappointment. The only redeeming factors were the nice lady helping us at our check -out and the fact that we didn't have to switch rooms when an extra night was added by our travel agency.
For starters there was the check -in. I couldn't remember the pin of my creditcard (what's the point of a credit card if you need a pin?) and our debit card does not support pre -authorisation. The guy at the desk said he couldn't take us in without a deposit

I booked Piries Hotel very last minute as I just needed somewhere to stay one night so I could return to work the next day a bit more bright eyed and bushy tailed.

I checked in late at night and honestly expected my room to be horrible because I had only paid £34 for two people for one night.

When we arrived, the service was quick and friendly and we sleepily plodded off to our room.

The room was actually really nice for a budget stay, the bed was comfy and the bathroom was very modern looking. Everything was clean and there was a TV and kettle. The room was quite small but absolutely perfect
