Services
Welcoming warm people friendly (dog friendly) Hotel and bar, great homemade food sourced locally charming staff and great beers even Dickens said so and he was a well travelled man.- The Ship Hotel is a grade II listed building situated in the centre of the peaceful seaside village of Allonby. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful scenery and was once a 17th century coaching inn serving those travelling on the Workington to Carlisle road.
Beautiful homemade beef Sunday dinner lovely fresh vegetables I would highly recommend the Ship hotel allonby it's not the first time we have eaten there and certainly won't be the last. At The Ship Hotel, we believe that choice and variety in our drinks offering is just as important as our food menu.
Friendly landlord, landlady and locals. Food very nice and reasonably priced. The establishment is very comfortable, with a lounge for dining & drinking and a separate games room that has a TV for watching the footy when it is on. There are a few benches in front of the pub, and in the evening you can watch the stunning sunsets.

A nice down to earth pub to eat in that is dog friendly. The Steak Pie was the best I've had in a long time. The fresh vegetables were peas and carrots which was fine. Chips were excellent. The previous night I had the lamb shank with mash, peas and carrots, again lovely.Puddings were really good too.My only suggestion for improvement would be to offer some fresh seasonal vegetables, such as cauliflower or broccoli with the main courses.
