Windermere Lake Cruises have a fleet of modern and traditional launches & steamers which operate regularly up and down the full length of the lake as well as shorter trips to Ambleside all year round. Ambleside is a small town at the head of Lake Windermere. The lake cruises regularly run from Bowness to Ambleside offering fine views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

We finally got to stay at Denehurst Guest House, after Covid restrictions caused us to cancel in 2020. So glad we rebooked for 2021. We arrived after a long drive to a warm welcome from Ken and Cindy. Their home is warm and welcoming. Our room was a good size, with ensuite bathroom, plenty of storage, lovely decor and the addition of the Teddy Bear on the bed is a great touch. Before we arrived we had asked for recommendations for restaurants, in order that we could pre-book. Ken and Cindy were very helpful with this and any other questions we had. During our stay they had plenty of useful information

The guest house was situated in a perfect location between Windermere and Bowness on a quiet street. Ken and Cindy were the perfect hosts the minute we arrived and made us feel very welcome throughout the stay! The property was spotless and beautifully decorated.Excellent breakfast lots of choice perfectly cooked. Could not fault this property

We Stayed in room 1.
Absolutely beautiful room and very clean, bed was so comfy, the en suite bathroom was spotless and some lovely touches added too, made it feel extra luxurious.
The guesthouse is situated perfectly between windermere and bowness. 15 minute walk to either town. Situated in a beautiful quiet area too.
Breakfast WOW!! Cindy your breakfasts are beautiful both mornings I had eggs benidict with bacon and it was SUPERB! My partner had the full Cumbrian breakfast the 1st morning and eggs benidict the second â

Stayed at the guesthouse for 3 nights as a party of 10 for a birthday celebration and i have to say it was fantastic! Rooms were spotless and Ken and Cindy could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing! Would definately stay again. The house is perfectly situated between Bowness and Windermere. Thank you Ken and Cindy for making our trip and my wifes birthday so enjoyable!

Cindy and Ken are the loveliest hosts and guides you can ever wish for. Every morning Ken would help us to plan our trip for that day with secret roads and views. The room and facilities were spotless. Breakfasts tasty. Location just a few minutes walk from Windermere and Bowness. We will definitely come back next time.
