Little Sparkles is the separate area of Haltwhistle Little Star nursery that is dedicated to our children aged under two and a half years. It is divided into a quiet area providing rest, and a safe stimulating area for playing with a wide range of toys appropriate for their needs in a colourful, cosy and warm environment.
Twinkle Stars is our bright, colourful and varied area for children from the age of 2 upwards. It is designed to provide dedicated spaces for our wide ranging and child-led nursery activities, such as creative, role play, construction, ICT and group time. There are also areas for quiet rest. As with our Little Sparkles, your children continue to have a keyworker assigned to them, as well as their daily home/nursery book.
At 8.50 our staff walk the children to school where they are put in their lines ready for school to open. As Little Star is situated next to the School, it is a very short and quick walk. When the school bell goes at Haltwhistle Community Campus Lower School, children coming to our after school club make their way to the school Hall, where our friendly staff are waiting to walk them the short distance to Little Star.
A soft multi-weather surface allows us to use the whole of the outdoor space at all times and in all weathers. We also have a road way for the children to ride their cars and bikes. Our Covered Play area means we can play outside without getting wet although a bit of rain never stops us - we have sufficient wet weather trousers and coats for all our children.
