South Marston Church Of England Primary School
A vibrant pre-school for 3-4 year olds, located within the early years department in the school's family. Please scroll down for more information. South Marston Pre-school was created to provide high quality pre-school education for children who live within South Marston and the surrounding area. The Pre-school is managed by the school and its Governing body.

The EYFS leader has overall responsibility for both the Pre-school and the Reception class. Transition between the two is extremely strong as the children are already familiar with the school and take part in Friday's Celebration Assembly. We also have close links with the village church. The Pre-School benefits from spacious accommodation, both indoors and outdoors.
Services
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to South Marston C of E Primary School, part of DBAT (The Diocese of Bristol Academies Trust). South Marston C of E Primary School is a popular oversubscribed village primary school located to the East of Swindon.

We have served the community of South Marston for over 140 years; today families from surrounding areas also choose our school because of its reputation, its traditions and its Christian background. At the heart of South Marston village, we are very proud to be part of the wider community and have strong links with our local church, St Mary Magdalene.
Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor. I have lived in Swindon since the mid-1980's and both my children were born and educated in Swindon although they did not go to this school.
Safeguarding is described by the NSPCC as the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. This is a top priority for everybody at South Marston CE Primary School. We are strongly committed to protecting and safeguarding children and expect all staff and volunteers to uphold this commitment.
Our school values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens. Proverbs 8:11: "For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it."
In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is 'right' and 'wrong', all people living in England are subject to its law.
