First impressions were a lovely hotel into reception onto the room which had marks on the walls and a view i would expect from a prison cell, yup basement room, no free parking unfortunately, and taxi into main part of the city cost about £15-£20 return ..... back to the room, we had a constant noise from the bathroom extractor which through the night sounded like some drunk guy shouting

Avoid! We lasted all of 10minutes in this hotel before leaving to find another. Room was down in the basement, walls where all marked, carpets stained and windows were filthy!! Car parking which we paid £20 for was across the street in a dark and dingy back alley. When we handed keys back there was no manager or staff available just housekeeping who was rude and basically called us liars for saying room was very poor! No refund was offered and when mentioned was told I would have to speak to manager... who was off on the sick unfortunately! Save your money and stay in a Travellodge!

Our first getaway since before the Pandemic. My partner found a deal on Groupon and purchased it as birthday gift for us to go on during the half term. The hotel was lovely and the staff were so friendly, and we had a great view of the castle from our top floor room. We will definitely be returning!

Manager was friendly but over stretched and becoming inefficient because of the related anxiety. Wanted a cup of tea in the morning and was told to return to room and we would be notified when we could come for breakfast and drink! Needless to say we left to acquire a drink from another venue. Hotel tired and needs a refurb. Room ok, clean sheets, quiet, but taps not working hot is actually cold water and unit is not attached to wall.
Location good.
However potential is there but not realised!!!

Booked the hotel for our wedding anniversary and the staff could not have been any nicer. I ordered flowers and chocolates as a surprise gift on arrival for my wife, and throughout Iain and Becky were quick to reply to emails to organise things for me. On arrival, we got a lovely welcome at reception and the room is delightful. Flowers and Chocolates laid out perfectly and a bottle of bubbly from the hotel as well to help us celebrate. Thank you guys, a perfect start to what is hopefully a memorable weekend.

Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very enjoyable. We paid for an upgraded room which was massive and the bed was comfy. That said the curtains were hanging off at one side. The bathroom bin wasn't… emptied and the shower gel bottle was empty and stayed that way while we were there. We were short of a bath towel which the guy in reception got for us straight away when we asked. It's supposed to be 3 stars but because of these details of say 2. Easy things to fix.

We were initially concerned because we got a travelzoo deal and thought it was one of the Thistle Group hotels. False fears ! It turned out to be a wonderful little hotel in a quiet street close to Haymarket station with wonderful staff, cheery helpful and very efficient. The continental breakfast was very good, set me up for the day. I can definitely recommend this hotel.

We were on 4th floor with no lift. The reception staff were very helpful. Room service staff not good at all. They emptied our rubbish bin and tidied our beds. Didn't give us fresh towels or replenish our tea and coffee. The guy on the desk brought clean towels and replenished our tea and coffee as soon as he was made aware of it. Breakfast was fine.
